Clover – 2022 T/G Isaac Franklin
Analysis: Franklin has good foot quickness and he uses his hands well in pass protection. He also provides a solid assist in run blocking support in opening up lanes for the running back.
Nation Ford – 2022 CB/SS Chase Gerber
Analysis: Gerber is everywhere in the secondary and if the play isn’t going to his side, he will still make his presence felt. He is solid in run support and comes downhill quickly to make tackles in space. He pursues the ball carrier at full speed and recognizes plays quickly, whether it’s an outside run play or a pass that’s going to the corner of the end zone.
Northwestern – 2023 LG Marcus Macon
Analysis: Macon stands at 6’3, 286 pounds and is really effective in run blocking. He can really push the defensive tackle back at the snap and open up running lanes for the back. We saw at times where he was able to get to the second level. He can also pull block well.
South Pointe – 2024 DT/OL Chris Dixon
Analysis: Dixon has impressive quickness to get to the ball and uses his hands well to fight off blocks. We noticed numerous times on film where he got into the backfield before the back could get going. Even if he wasn’t able to get the sack, his pressure affected the throw. The rising sophomore will be one you’ll want to keep your eye on. He is an outstanding student in the classroom with a 3.7 GPA.
South Pointe – 2023 OLB/ATH Jonathan Williams
Analysis: Williams wins at the LOS and does a good job of plugging up the running lanes. His closing speed is excellent as he has good instincts to recognize the play and react to what’s coming. There was one play we saw on his film where he dropped in his coverage initially and reacted quickly to close on an out route.
