South Pointe – 2023 FS/CB DJ Barksdale
Analysis: Barksdale is a hard hitting safety and corner who pursues the ball carrier at full speed at the snap of the ball. He recognizes plays quickly, especially against the run with what we saw on film. His ability to play man-to-man coverage was impressive as well. He uses good technique to knock the ball away without drawing an interference penalty. There were also several plays where he made the interception and was able to get a few yards out of it. He can make plays on special teams. He plays basketball as well.
Indian Land – 2024 RB Jaden Singletary
Analysis: Singletary started as a freshman playing varsity football in 2020 and he made his presence felt. He has the combination of speed and power to know when it’s time to hit the hole and go full speed or run someone over. He can get those 10+ yard runs in between the tackles. He also showed the ability to make some plays on screen passes, being patient in waiting on his blockers. Keep your eye on this guy as he develops heading into 2021.
Northwestern – 2023 WR Elijah Caldwell
2020 Season Stats: 33 receptions, 327 yards, 3 TDs (6 games)
Analysis: Caldwell stands at 6’1, 190 pounds and the Trojans used as the outside receiver in the Air Raid offense. We saw on his film where he showed the ability to go up and make the high point catch. There were several plays where he would run a pivot route to the sideline and use his frame to shield himself from the defender and make catches. He can also make plays on screens and get YACs as well.
York – 2022 RB/OLB RJ Glasgow
Analysis: Glasgow stands at 6’1, 200 pounds and plays on both sides of the ball. On offense, he is a downhill runner who doesn’t dance in space and isn’t afraid to put his head down to get a few more yards. His strength is on display in being able to break off arm tackles. He’s solid in pass pro and showed the ability to make a few catches in space as well. On defense, he can make tackles in space – he made a few interceptions as well. He’s also impactful in special teams coverage. He is an outstanding student with a 4.273 GPA.
