No matter what class it may be, there are going to be an amazing amount of talent, and the Class of 2023 is certainly no exception.
While we fully understand that everyone loves player rankings – and because they are popular – it causes plenty of friction, with coaches, players and fans all believing that their athlete is the best – and there is nothing wrong with that.
Because we have the opportunity to travel and see so many of these prospects perform, we can make a judgement which athletes are perhaps a better recruit at this time. Like anything, opinions change and so do rankings and that’s why we will have the chance to adjust our 560 plus athletes after spring/summer – right before the start of the season, and of course at the end of the 2021 season – which will be the final listing for the class for the year – and then it starts all over next winter/spring.
What we will do over the next few weeks is bring you many of the prospects that we rated and give you our views on that athlete, and that is something that very few who do these rankings can accomplish – and that is what continues to set us apart.
Today, we bring you five more elite prospects from this rising junior class:
Jalen Brown Jalen Brown 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Miami Gulliver | 2023 State FL , WR, 6-2, 175, Miami Gulliver Prep You could see it coming two years ago – when he was ready to enter the ninth grade. A gifted track athlete who had found success on the football field as well. So dominant was he this past season for the Raiders that he averaged over 27 yards per reception and helped to add balance for a team that lost just one time. He set track records at the school and still has two years left. Big time prospect who will continue to open eye. Easily one of the best receivers in the state and one of the nation’s best. Also gets it done in the classroom.

Malik Bryant Malik Bryant 6'2" | 235 lbs | LB Orlando Jones | 2023 State FL , OLB, 6-3, 220, Bradenton IMG Academy. There’s a reason why this impressive football talent is one of the best in the country – and if you watch him perform, you will see exactly why. Comes off the edge, drops back in coverage or just plain becomes a force with his speed, size and athleticism. Gets better and better every time we watch him – no matter where he is at. Will be turning heads for much of the next two seasons in Bradenton. This one-time Orlando Jones standout is the real deal that we will be watching on Saturdays for sure!

Mark Fletcher Mark Fletcher 6'1" | 225 lbs | RB Plantation American Heritage | 2023 State FL , RB, 6-1, 190, Plantation American Heritage. Very few players live up to the hype that fans, coaches and fellow players put on certain athletes. But here is someone who has certainly done exactly what many had been talking about since he was in the 7th grade. All he has done since arriving is work himself into one of the premier backs in the nation – and he has had the forum to prove it and come out on top. Last year, during the championship season, he ran the ball hard, with power and dominated to the point that college coaches who were watching have already spoken about this talented runner who is going to continue to do some impressive things this coming season.

Pearce Spurlin Pearce Spurlin 6'6" | 220 lbs | TE Santa Rosa Beach South Walton | 2023 State FL , TE, 6-6, 220, Santa Rosa Beach South Walton. Talk about someone who made a major splash before ever playing a game in Florida, here is a tremendous prospect, who came in from Georgia after his freshman season and played this past year in the Sunshine State during the pandemic season. Already committed to attend the University of Georgia, this is a pass-catching tight end, who will continue to mature and get bigger – not losing any of his speed, which he works on year-round. His size, ability to win balls in the air and make game-changing plays is why he is so special – and this is a talented student/athlete, who is willing to put in the time to get better.

John Walker John Walker 6'3" | 310 lbs | DL Kissimmee Osceola | 2023 State FL , DT, 6-4, 285, Kissimmee Osceola. Nothing beats watching an athlete from six feet away, playing the sport and not just wearing shorts and a t-shirt at some exposure camp or combine. The reason why many failed to consider that this is one of the best prospects in the country – an upper tier player – because they never took the time to watch him during his sophomore year and see someone who dominated top competition – every week in every games. This was an elite talent from the very beginning. The Kowboys made the state finals because of football players like this who puts in the work – no matter who is watching. Thank goodness for the actual game of football – where prospects become prospects and not just someone who looks good in shorts.
