The players listed below are the top players in Region 3.
Derrick McCall | 6-3 QB | Central HS
McCall is an excellent passer in the pocket. His junior season was stellar, and entering his senior year, he has the opportunity to climb up the rankings.
The incoming ssenior has terrific field vision and excels at reading defenses before the snap.
Jarvis Packer | 5-7 RB, CB | Linden HS
Linden finished the 2020 season undefeated at 14-0. Packer was just a sophomore last year, but played a dominant role in the team’s success.
Entering his junior year, he has the chance to be the starting running back in 2021. Packer has dominant power and quick speed in his running game. This is a running back that is one of the most underrated players in the state for his class.
Preston Forrest | 6-1 WR, CB | Linden HS
Another Linden star, Forrest is a speedy receiver that has great hands. Off the line of scrimmage, he can cruise past the defender for an open catch anywhere on the field.
He has great awareness with his route running and is also stellar on defense at cornerback.
Jeremy Bryant | 5-9 G, DT | Keith HS
Bryant might just be one of the best unknown linemen in Alabama.
He will enter his senior year in 2021, but has one more chance to showcase his skills to college scouts.
At 5’9″, 225 pounds, Bryant is a dominant linemen on both sides of the ball. On offense, he excels at keeping defenders from getting pressure on the quarterback. But on defense, he can get past the offensive lineman to get into the backfield and cause pressure on any given play.
Dewoyne Charleston | 5-7 QB, FS | Linden HS
Charleston helped lead Linden to the state championship last season. The 5’7″, 145 pound quarterback has great arm strength but can also scramble out of the pocket with his quick feet.
He makes all the right reads in the pocket and knows when to get rid of the ball before the defense collapses and gets pressure on him.
Entering 2021, he will likely be the starting quarterback for his team as they search for another state title.
Terrell Lumpkin | 5-10 WR, CB | Keith HS
Lumpkin is a versatile and speedy receiver that can catch any pass thrown his way.
He is great in blocking for the run game on the outside as well.
The incoming senior can go up against any taller defender and bring down the catch.
Joshua Gordon | 5-11 MLB, FB | Central HS
Gordon plays the middle linebacker position with excellence.
The junior has impressed the coaches at Central his first two seasons and will earn more playing time in 2021.
At linebacker, Gordon is great at stepping up and earning tackles on any given play. When a pass is thrown in his direction, he excels at keeping the receiver in check and forcing an incompletion. Gordon can also put pressure in the backfield on crucial downs.
