The top players in Region 4 are some of the best players in Class 1A.
Brady Harrison | 5-2 RB | Maplesville HS
Harrison is a speedy back that can shake off tackles and elevate his feet for extra yards.
Last season, he led the region in rushing with 1,031 yards and 15 touchdowns. Entering his senior season, Harrison has the opportunity to once again finish as the top back in Region 4. He also excels in the pass catching game and has great hands to haul in any pass out of the backfield.
Cole Gray | 6-1 TE, DE | Maplesville HS
Another Maplesville star, Gray is an outstanding player on both sides of the ball. Last season, he had a total of 268 receiving yards and two touchdowns, but averaged 12.8 yards per catch.
On the defensive side, the incoming senior is a freak athlete on the defensive line that can get into the backfield and get pressure in a flash. He has great hands and footwork to get by the opposing offensive lineman and make his presence known every play.
Rodney Deramus | 5-6 QB, CB | Autaugaville HS
Dermaus was just a sophomore last season, but showed flashes of what is to come in his final two seasons.
The junior quarterback is great at making adjustments at the line of scrimmage when needed but has a strong arm in the pocket.
He is also a quick player that can scramble for yards when pressure is closing in on him inside the pocket. Deramus could be one of the top players to watch in his final two years.
Jarod Quinn | 5-11 QB, RB | Verbena HS
Quinn enters his junior year in 2021 with high expectations. He is a player that can line up under center and throw nice passes as a quarterback. But he can also do it all out of the backfield with his solid rushing ability.
The junior stands at 5’11”, 182 pounds and might be one of the top all around players in Region 4 this season.
Brody Mims | 6-2 QB | Verbena HS
Mims served as Verbena’s main signal-caller last season and impressed. The 6’2″ quarterback has great field vision and knows when to get out of the pocket.
He possesses great arm strength and can lead his receiver to the ball anywhere on the field.
Payton Cook | 6-3 WR | Maplesville HS
Cook was a dominant weapon for Maplesville last season when he earned playing time.
While he was only a sophmore, Cook showed his coaches what is to come during his final two years.
The 6’3″ receiver is great at beating his man off the line of scrimmage and has great hands to catch any pass thrown his way. He also has quick feet which helps him burst past defenders to gain extra yards after the catch.
JJ Barber | 5-7 WR, CB | Verbena HS
Barber is an excellent receiver that can play both outside and in the slot. He excels at gaining yards after the catch. His great hands translate over to the defensive side of the ball where he plays cornerback. With his great hands and playmaking ability, Barber can defend the pass well when the ball is thrown to the receiver he is covering.
