Offensive Spotlight
Jack Benson Jack Benson 6'4" | 180 lbs | QB Arcadia | 2022 AZ , QB, 6’4″ 180lbs, Arcadia HS ’22

Benson was a newcomer to Arizona High School football this season, as he transferred to Arcadia from Centennial High in Boise, Idaho. In an 8 game COVID season with a brand new school, Benson racked up 1,700 yards passing with 17 TD’s and only 2 INT’s. He sizes up with a long, slender build with room to put on size and grow into his frame. He shows clean and coordinated footwork in the pocket, and delivers with a fluid throwing motion. His overall pocket mechanics are top tier. He senses pressure well and can step, slide, or escape the pocket and deliver throws off platform with accuracy. He goes through progression well and is aggressive to drive the ball downfield. He has shown the ability to hit all 3 levels of throws with solid placement and has excellent ball security to not force throws. Benson can drive balls into tight windows with velocity, or throw receivers open with touch. A big trait that stand out to me on film is his ability to adjust his arm angle and get the ball out quick with excellent accuracy on quickly developing RPO’s with opponents in his face. He’s athletic enough to pick up yards on the feet when forced out of the pocket as well. Benson could have a massive senior season this coming fall, and should be a ’22 QB to get on your radar ASAP.
Thank you @JoshLamberson @ClintBrown45 @ACUFootball for the virtual tour of the facilities and the zoom call after educating me on the program. 🙏 #catcrew22 pic.twitter.com/xec7a23LG3

Defensive Spotlight
Deshaun Buchanan Deshaun Buchanan 6'0" | 190 lbs | ATH Basha | 2023 State AZ , ATH, 6’0″ 195lbs, Hamilton HS ’23
Film: https://www.hudl.com/profile/6505150/Deshaun-Buchanan
Buchanan was part of a state runner-up Hamilton team, and he served a big role for a sophomore on a powerhouse program. He’s a very good athlete all around and lined up at CB and RB during the 2020 season. At CB, he tracks the his well in man and seemed like he really matured throughout the season. He can open the gate and turn and run vertically with receivers, and did a good job overall with his hand placement to force PBU’s. He’s shown solid recovery speed and can play well in space. Buchanan was an effective tackler in run support with a low point of contact. He had one of the toughest jobs as a sophomore to line up on an island and cover some of the states best receivers, and did well. He faced some of the toughest programs in Arizona and was a solid player for the lights out Hamilton defense. Recently this offseason, Buchanan has been taking a big leap in his athleticism and potential. He has had numerous impressive performances in various 7v7 events. He also recently recorded a verified 455 squat max during Hamilton’s max week. Big potential for Bucnahan, and expect him to have a huge role next season on both sides of the ball.
