Not only is the team well balanced on both sides of the ball, but they are talented enough to make a run in the playoffs as well. To start, the offense, led by Rashod Dubinion Rashod Dubinion 5'10" | 170 lbs | ATH Cedar Grove | 2022 State GA , can compete against some of the better teams in the state, and the star studded defensive line can hold up against some of the best as well. While the team saw it’s dreams collapse in the playoffs last year as they lost to Crisp County 16-13, they have the 2021 season to look forward to, and to motivate them.
Rashod Dubinion Rashod Dubinion 5'10" | 170 lbs | ATH Cedar Grove | 2022 State GA – RB
The Arkansas commit, Rashod Dubinion Rashod Dubinion 5'10" | 170 lbs | ATH Cedar Grove | 2022 State GA , is poised to have another successful season of high school football before taking his game to the next level. Not only does he already run like a college level RB, but he already proves to have the developmental frame, and body that college coaches like at the next level. With the ball in his hands, he plays with good vision, short area quickness, and overall speed. He allows his feet, and quick twitch to take over with the ball in his hands as well, and this allows him to leave defenders in the dust, as he is able to make it to the second level, and often times to the end zone with a few sudden moves, and change of direction. Along with this, Dubinion is also very shifty in between the tackles, but can also bounce to the outside and turn the corner if need be. His balance and the pad level that he runs at is also very effective in doing so, and is likely one of the reasons for his success. Next season, expect for him to continue to dominate, and to put his team in good position to compete in the playoffs.
Christen Miller Christen Miller 6'6" | 285 lbs | DL Cedar Grove | 2022 State GA – DT
Miller, who is one of the most important pieces to the team’s defense, will be returning in 2021, and will likely show out just as he already has in his high school career. To this point, Miller has compiled plenty of Power 5 offers, to no surprise, as his ability to play at a dominating speed is unreal for his age. Not only does he get off of the ball well, but he is also very productive with the use of his hands, arms, and the leverage that he plays at. This, paired with his explosive ability to get to the football, helps him to be able to push the pocket well, and to be able to pressure the opposing QB, and stop ball carriers in the backfield. Miller also plays very well in pursuit, and moves extremely well laterally. One thing that is also very impressive about Miller is his developmental frame. Going into the next level, this will very likely be something that helps him to be able to add weight and adapt to the a more mature game of football.
Malachi Madison Malachi Madison 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Cedar Grove | 2022 State GA – DE
There is a reason why Madison has around 28 offers, with a bunch of them being from Power 5 schools. Not only does he move with fluidity in his hips, but he sinks, and bends well in all of his movement, which allows him to explode out of his stance, and out of his breaks, and when he changes direction. Madison does a great job of getting off of the ball with quickness, and he also torts his body well, using his length, and frame to make tackles that are seemingly out of reach at times. Along with this, it is very impressive how well he uses his hands, and extends his arms. In doing so, he shows how coachable he is, and that he can use technique well.
Joshua White Joshua White 6'4" | 240 lbs | DL Cedar Grove | 2022 State GA – DL
Off of the line, White is probably one of the better players on his team. Not only does he explode off the ball with his lower body, but he also uses his size to his ability, and this allows him to make his way around linemen efficiently and to get to the ball carrier. Even though he can be a bit stiff during other times, he does a good job of maneuvering around the field and making tackles, especially in pursuit. With this success also comes things that White needs to work on, and this includes his flexibility, and sink and bend. If White were to improve in these areas, he would see a drastic improvement in his efficiency when taking angles, or using leverage.
