Last season, their successful run came to an end against North Gwinnett in late November as they lost 29-16. As the team enters into this season, they will be returning plenty of their key starters, especially at some of the most important positions. Below, we have listed some of their best returning players, who are certainly worth the watch as the season slowly approaches in the coming months.
AJ Swann- QB
Swann, who is committed to Maryland, shows a ton of traits that will translate well into the collegiate level of play. When watching his tape, his arm strength leaps off of the screen. Not only can he make deep throws accurately, but he shows that he can drive the football well into small windows if needed. Along with this, Swann also does a decent job of squaring his shoulders, especially when he throws on the run. He has great ball placement as well on intermediate routes, and shows that he can put touch on the ball if needed. While we question his vision at times, we do see flashes of great ability in this area. He also does a great job of making throws from awkward angles, which is becoming more common in today’s era of football. Moving forward, expect him to have another strong season, and to roll into Maryland with a ton to work off of.
Keith Adams- RB
It should come as no shocker that Adams’ recruiting has started to pick up. With the rock in his hand, not only does he have good vision, but he has decent enough change of direction skills to be able to make the most of this ability. His twitch and jump cut allows him to be able shake defenders effectively, and his burst allows him to gain a ton of positive yards along the way. With this, Adams also has a decent build to his size and frame, and he appears as if he can most likely add some positive size and weight to his frame as well. Furthermore, we also like his ability to use quick feet, to gain separation from tacklers, and his ability to finish plays. Going into next season, look for him to only get better, and for more programs to begin to extend him offers.
Adarrius Harshaw Adarrius Harshaw 5'9" | 155 lbs | WR Cherokee | 2022 State GA – WR
We firmly believer that Harshaw is one of the most underrated WR’s in the state of Georgia. Not only does he have a ton of big play ability, but he is also a dynamic, and explosive play maker with the ball in his hands. To start, his ability to make plays after the catch is one of the most attractive things about his game. Not only does he have the burst, and twitch that you want in a skilled player, but Harshaw also has very quick feet, which helps him to gain separation and allows him to get open on intermediate routes. Along with this, he also plays very fluidly, and is also very shifty as well. Additionally, he catches the ball cleanly from various angles, and shows that he has the speed to compete against top competition. Next season, expect him to continue to work on his ability to keep his legs moving through contact, and to run more polished routes.
Toby Thompson Toby Thompson 6'4" | 240 lbs | DL Cherokee | 2022 State GA – DT
Measuring in at 6’4, 240 pounds, despite the fact that Thompson is one of the less known prospects on this list, he has a ton of potential that he has yet to fully tap into. Not only does he show raw strength and power, but he also has the length and frame that could help him to be a great player on the DL. Not only does he fill gaps well and allow his length to help him to make tackles, but he shows some flashes of athleticism as well. While he can get caught leaning at times, he does a good job of getting to the ball carrier and making stops. He uses his legs as a driving force to help him have success, and he also does a decent job in pursuit as well. While we would like to see him use his hands more, and to use quicker feet, ultimately, we feel that Thompson can be a huge contributor to his team next season.
