Most of the state had the opportunity to play, and there are prospects from 2021 and 2022 who are committing. Let’s take a look at some recent commits, and what these schools will be getting!
Grant Copper (Easton), WR, Frostburg State, 2021
Copper had a very productive career for the Easton Warriors (117 Catches, 1867 Yards, 25 TDs). Coming off a big Junior season, had this been a normal year, there is no doubt he would have had an even bigger senior year. As it stands he had a very good spring season, finishing with 25 Rec. 353 Yards and 5 TDs in only 4 games. Frostburg is a great opportunity for Copper to take the next step in his football career.
Scout’s Take: A WR with good size, and a catch radius to match. Copper does a great job when the ball is in the air to come down with the catch. Easton’s #1 target that was moved around, through motions and alignments, to find ways to get him the ball. Sure hands with tools that can be developed to maximize his time with Frostburg.
Kyle Howes Kyle Howes 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Urbana | 2021 MD (Urbana), QB, Susquehanna University, 2021
Howes had a very good career for Urbana. Showcasing his talent all four years led him to a big opportunity with Susquehanna University. The move to Division III Susquehanna gives him his biggest challenge yet. This step-up in competition provides the chance to prove himself as a college QB.
Scout’s Take: He is a dangerous athlete in the open field. His speed allowed him to kill angles of the defensive players. Has good arm strength and can make throws deep down the field with ease. Excels when throwing short to intermediate routes. The dual-threat ability makes him an intriguing freshman for Susquehanna.
Jayden Sauray Jayden Sauray 6'0" | 200 lbs | QB Wise | 2022 State MD (Wise), QB, Maryland, 2022
While he did not have a spring season, Jayden has been a name to watch for the last couple of years. Currently #12 in the state rankings, he is a highly rated player with FBS teams competing for him. With the continued in-state movement, Maryland got the commitment.
Scout’s Take: Sauray shows calmness above his age. He rarely looks out of control. As a passer, he can make all of the throws. He is an easy thrower that does not have to over-exert. This shows up when he has to make deep throws or throws outside the numbers. He has the speed that makes him as dangerous a runner as he is a passer. He looks like a natural passer with the tools that can be developed to excel at the college level.
