Glowack will be going into his second year as the Broncos’s starting quarterback. He was 120-232 for 1320 yards and 10 touchdowns through the air in 2020. He also rushed for 131 and 5 more touchdowns. He currently holds the school’s career pass completion percentage for International Falls at 51%.
On film, Glowack shows he has a strong and accurate left-handed arm. He impressed me with his accuracy in throwing fade routes. He shows he has the confidence to step-up in the pocket and throw the ball down field. Glowack, also has the athleticism to make plays with his legs when needed.
The up side for Glowack is the return of (2023) WR Tristan Thompson and (2022) RB Diego Christianson. Look for Glowack and Thompson to connect for big results in 2021.
Glowack is a hard worker and great student of the game, which earned him the team’s “Grit” award in 2020 and team captain for 2021. Glowack’s hard work and commitment to the game has him poised for a big season in 2021.
2022 Will Dvorak 5’11 180 (St. Louis Park)
When watching Will Dvorak play Quarterback, the first word that comes to mind is “shifty”. Dvorak was 76-152 for 1076 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2020. But what impressed me most was his elusiveness and ability to escape the pocket and make a strong throw on the run.
Dvorak is a mobile quarterback with very good quickness. He has a strong arm with the ability to make throws down the field and to the sideline.
The upside for Dvorak will be the return of two of his top targets. 2022 WR Deontez Ross Jr. And 2022 WR Brady Walsh. If Dvorak can connect with Walsh and Ross, look for the Orioles to put up big numbers on offense.
Dvorak was All-District for the Suburban White District in 2020 and voted team offensive MVP. He has a high football IQ and a 3.762 GPA. I am expecting good things from Dvorak in his second season as the Orioles starter.
2022 Charlie Ryks 6’0 185 (Breck)
Ryks was 38-76 for 690 yards and 11 touchdowns in only 6 games in 2020. He compiled a QB rating 110.2 which puts him near the top of the list for quarterback with over 50 attempts. Ryks add another 217 yards and 6 touchdowns on the ground.
Ryks is a strong runner with very good speed. He sees the field well and gets rid of the ball quickly.
The up side for Ryks will be the return of 2020 receptions leader (2022) WR Carter Theissen. Ryks and Theissen connected for 20 times for 4 touchdowns in 2020. Look for Ryks and Theissen to lead a high powered Breck Offense in 2021.
Ryks is a fierce competitor who brings a lot of athleticism to the QB position. He was selected All-District and voted team MVP in 2020. He is a leader on and off the field earning him a stop as team captain in 2021.
2022 Dominic Mathies 5’9 140 (Sauk Rapids – Rice)
Mathies was 40-81 for 571 yards and 9 touchdowns in only 4 games in 2020. He also rushing for 80 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Watching Mathies on film I notice that he gets the ball out quickly. He has a strong arm and the ability to make throws 40+ yards in the air down the sideline. Mathies is a strong runner, with big play ability. Mathies has the ability to rise to the occasions being able to make big plays in big moments.
The upside for Mathies is the return of 2022 WR Alex Harren and 2023 WR Andrew Harren. Look for Mathies to connect with his receivers and put-up good numbers in 2021.
Mathies received All-District Honorable Mention honors in 2020. I see him putting up big numbers and be selected All-District in 2021.
2022 Tanner Pazdernik 6’1 180 (Mahnomen/Waubun)
Pazdernik was 15-31 for 278 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2020 with a QB rating of 175.9. He was also the Thunderbird’s leading rusher carrying the ball 118 times for 626 and 8 touchdowns.
Pazdernik is a strong/physical player who runs the Thunderbird’s option offense very well. Pazdernik is also very efficient through the air with one-third of his completions finding the end zone.
The upside for Pazdernik is the return of 2023 RB Dennis Ashley. Pazdernik and Ashley aim to be a tough backfield combination for opposing defenses.
Pazdernik is a smart, hardworking, unselfish player who is team oriented. The kind of kid who puts team goals ahead of individual goals. Parzdernik was District Co-Offensive player of the year in 2020. With Parzdernik leading the way look for the Thunderbirds to repeat as Section 8A champs.
2022 QB Sam Zilmer 6’4 190 (Rockford)
Zilmer threw for 917 yards on 53-119 passing and 11 touchdowns in 2020. He also ran for another touchdown. Zilmer has 1218 career passing yards and 12 touchdowns. Going into his third year at QB for the Rockets, Zilmer looks to continue to add to those totals
Zilmer has a very strong arm and good accuracy with the ability to put the ball in tight spots. He also can throw the ball down field with nice touch. Zilmer sees the field well and makes good decisions with the ball.
The huge upside for Zilmer is the return of his three top targets from 2020. 2023 TE Wes Overton Wes Overton 6'3" | 215 lbs | LB Rockford | 2023 State MN who had 23 receptions for 484 yards and 6 touchdowns in 2020. Also, 2023 WR Alex Altmann and 2022 WR Nolan Perry who combined for 17 receptions for 327 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Zilmer’s performance in 2020 earned him 1st team all-district. He was also named “Back of the Year” in both 2019 and 2020. With the return of his top three targets and two years’ experience under his belt, Zilmer is posed to have a big year in 2021.
2022 Luke Shepard 6’1 175 (New Prague)
In only 3 games in 2020 Shepard compiled 684 yards on 26-38 passing and 3 touchdowns. Shepard finished the 2020 season with an impressive QB rating of 119.
Shepard has a strong arm and can make accurate throws both with the short pass and the long ball. He is a quarterback who gets rid of the ball quickly. Shepard also has the ability to move outside the pocket and make a strong throw. He has the athleticism to make plays with his legs as well.
The upside for Shepard is the return of his top two targets from 2020. 2022 WR Ethan Chromy and 2022 TE Matt Friedges. Chromy and Friedges combined for 25 receptions and 3 touchdowns in 2020. I expect Shepard to continue to connect with these two targets in a big way in 2021.
Shepard is a student of the game and has a high football IQ. He has grown as a leader both on and off the field. Look for exciting things from Shepard and the Trojans offense in 2021.
2022 Alex Call 6’3 180 (KMS)
Call was 52-86 for 657 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2020. Call will be a four-year starter for the Saints. Over his first three seasons he has accumulated 2124 yards and 19 touchdowns through the air. Along with 5 rushing touchdowns.
Call is a true dual threat quarterback. He has a big strong arm that can get the ball down the field. He sees the field well and makes accurate on time throws. Call also has the ability to get out of the pocket and make plays with his legs.
Call will have a young receiving core to work with in 2021. If he can build a connection with 2023 Jaiden Henjum, 2024 Jared Cortez, and 2023 Isaac Rudningen, Call will continue to thrive in the Saints offense.
Call who has a scholarship to play baseball at University of Arizona has a great physical skill set and is a true athlete. Call is a high football IQ kid, who has a great feel for the game. In 2020 Call earned Team MVP, unanimously voted District QB of the year, and 1st team All-District.
