Listed below are the names of a few 2023 offensive linemen who came out with a purpose and caught the eyes of many people during the showcase. These players did nothing but help themselves and I believe they worked to get their names on this list.
Misisolo Maluia – Trinity High School Euless (Texas)
Maulia had such an impressive day at the showcase, it would have been criminal not to mention him. He was a player who came in who people did not know about, but when he was done, everybody needed to know his name. Maulia was physical throughout the day and set the tone over and over again, unafraid of any challenge in front of him. At 6’2, 280 pounds, Maulia ran a respectable forty and shuttle time paired with very good broad jump and L-Drill. Maulia showed quick feet in his pass protection, a very strong stance and upper body to hold his ground to win multiple reps. Every time he was called up, Maulia did not disappoint at all. He has the potential to be a top linemen in his class as he continuous to put the work in.
Colin Beesley – Prosper (Texas)
Beesley’s size brought much attention to himself when he walked in. At 6’5 and weighing about 250 pounds, Beesley put his long frame up to the test during competition. His reach kept defensive linemen away from the quarterback and he should good strength. For the testing portion, Beesley did extremely well. He ran a 4.9 forty, a 4.79 shuttle time, showed excellent explosion on the broad jump, and great change of direction on the L-Drill. Beesley definitely raised his stock by giving his all at the showcase.
Isreal Jolivette – Carencro (Louisiana)
Jolivette put on a good show in Dallas. At 6’4, 240, Jolivette showed his quickness out of his stance and strength when engaged. Even though for the Carencro offense, Jolivette is used to run blocking, he showed good skill and ability to pass block repeatedly. It may have been an adjustment at first but Jolivette was attentive and picked up much information and showed it during one on ones. Jolivette had very good testing numbers with his broad jumps being one of the best during the showcase. Jolivette will continue to get better over time and this was only the start for him.
Isacc Ibarra – Bryan (Texas)
Ibarra got better throughout the day of the showcase. He was subject to great tips by the coaches and put it together during the one on ones. Ibarra, standing at 6’4 and weighing 350 pounds, did a great job of being a wall between the defender and his quarterback. Once Ibarra was engaged, he made is very difficult for defensive linemen to get through. Ibarra put up good numbers during the testing but you knew by watching that his confidence raised after each drill. He will be a player to keep eyes on to watch his development throughout the season.
