Defensive Line (3)
Paine Parks Paine Parks 6'3" | 215 lbs | LB GF Red River | 2022 State , Grand Forks Red River (2022)
Twitter: @Parks_paine44
Parks looks to be our #1 defensive linemen on our EGF-GF Super Team. He has a quick shed off his blocks and can get to the ball carrier very quickly. He has a high physicality level on every play he makes, which matches his intensity on offense. His versatility is what stands out to me most, as he can also be a sideline to sideline prospect at linebacker. Still, I think the Edge treats him better as far as the next level goes with his burst off the line and his great size. Parks also gets an excellent pad level on the bulk of his hits and will get a significant boost on our upcoming Class of 2022 rankings coming up in the next month or so.
Justin Kerr Justin Kerr DL GF Central | 2022 State , Grand Forks Central (2022)
Kerr provides the middle-of-the-line presence for the Knights. He has a good reach in his arsenal to get his hands up for some contested balls. Kerr is my primary defensive tackle on this EGF-GF Super Team as he will be the player we will depend on as a run-stuffer in the middle, which is something he does well. Kerr will need more film his senior season, as from what I have seen on the wrestling mat; this kid has a lot of power in his lower body to be an even more significant asset for the Knights this fall football season.
Caleb Zejdlik, East Grand Forks (2023)
Twitter: @bigblue_23
Zejdlik lines up both ways, but from what I see on the offensive line, he looks to have a vicious punch that could make way for him on the other side of the line for the Green Wave. I also came away impressed with Zejdlik and his motor, as he seems to continue the momentum on the line with multiple blocks per play.
Linebacker (3)
Tyler Herbeck, Grand Forks Central (2021)
Twitter: @HerbeckTyler
Herbeck looks to be the most versatile linebacker in Grand Forks in the Class of 2021. His ability to drop back into coverage and have a solid presence back there speaks well with his game. He also comes with a burst I want on my super team especially coming off the Edge. He has a relatively quick shedding ability that reads really well as a linebacker. Herbeck also the Knight’s go-to tailback. Based on the film, I am surprised that Herbeck has not committed anywhere for football, as I feel he’s a solid prospect at the next level.
Garrin Sattler Garrin Sattler TE GFRed River | 2022 State , Grand Forks Red River (2022)
Twitter: @garrinsattler
Sattler is a name you might remember from our offensive list at fullback on our Super Team for EGF-GF. His vision on the ball carrier is imposing, and it speaks why I see him with a college football future at either position. He also has vital patience in his game, as he doesn’t just attack; he waits for the right time to hit the hole where the ball carrier is going. Sattler cuts really well and can make plays coming in on an angle with his quick feet. He has already taken his fair share of visits at programs across the Northern Sun.
Jaden Haake, Grand Forks Central (2023)
Haake will be my middle linebacker on our EGF-GF Super Team. He doesn’t have the most size at the linebacker position, but he does a solid job shutting the gaps on the run. He moves pretty well on the inside and can be an asset on the outside run as well. Haake is a viable linebacker that will make sure our super team does not allow big running plays up the middle as most plays I saw where he was highlighted were inside 5 yards or less, and he was the guy making the plays when some of his teammates got beat.
Defensive Back (3)
Hudson Flom Hudson Flom 6'0" | 165 lbs | DB GF Red River | 2023 State , Grand Forks Red River (2023)
Twitter: @FlomHudson
Flom makes a perfect free safety for this Super Team. He has a good presence on the run and shows off his versatility wherever he lines up for the Roughriders. He positions himself super well on shorter throws and has good length as just a sophomore. He has a solid tackling ability and is one I look to have a probable riser in our Class of 2023 rankings with two more years left to show off even more talent as the potential is certainly there to be a college-level prospect. Flom is also an outstanding student with a 4.0 GPA.
Brody Schultz, East Grand Forks (2021)
Twitter: @_brodyschultz
Schultz has an excellent physical presence both offensively and defensively, but I need his hitting ability at defensive back on our EGF-GF Super Team. He has a strong burst off the line and can get from point A to point B in good time. I especially love his motor on special teams, as on tape, he blocked a good amount of kicks in his junior season. Schultz has a MIAC offer from Concordia-Moorhead but has not yet decided on his college plans for next season.
Sam Strandell Sam Strandell DB GF Central | 2022 State , Grand Forks Central (2022)
Twitter: @SamStrandell
Strandell is another familiar prospect from our offensive super team for EGF-GF, and I feel he gives our secondary substantial length with his size at 6’2 and good range. Strandell has a quick close inability with his speed to change directions. His tackling ability another strength to his game as he always makes the best play on the ball carrier vs. the big hitter. I certainly see Strandell as a WR at the college level, but his versatility gives off an excellent knack for the game at cornerback.
