Hazelwood Central and Pattonville have been two of the St. Louis area’s top teams during this abbreviated spring football season and their matchup on Thursday night lived up to the billing.

In the end, Hazelwood Central’s rushing attack helped the Hawks bounce back from their loss a week earlier to hand the Pattonville Pirates their first defeat, 28-21.

Hazelwood Central improved to 3-1 through four games while Pattonville fell to 3-1.

Here is a quick look at some of the standouts from Thursday’s game...

HAZELWOOD CENTRAL (3-1)

Against Pattonville he turned in a dominant performance. He rushed 31 times for 174 yards and three touchdowns — all new career highs — and powered the visiting Hawks to a big bounce back win. For the season, Banks has rushed for 450 yards and scored seven touchdowns.
