Seneca Valley @ Clarksburg
This is a renewed rivalry game. These two teams are extremely close in proximity so you can expect some bad blood in this game. Seneca has looked much improved this season and looks really strong. Clarksburg has shown flashes at times but they have not been able to put it all together.
Seneca Valley player to watch: Don Coleman – Coleman is a true athlete. He is very explosive, he is a playmaker with the ball in his hands. Seneca has used Coleman at both receiver and quarterback which speaks to his versatility. Expect Coleman to make big plays this game.
Clarksburg player to watch: Drew Moore – Moore is an explosive player. He is one of the best return men in the county, last week he took 2 kickoffs back for touchdowns. If Clarksburg can find a way to get Moore the ball with space he can have a big day.
Walter Johnson @ Churchill
These are two similar programs. Both programs aren’t known for being a power in the county but both have found success as of late. This should be an offensive shootout between two very good offenses that are both capable of slinging it.
Walter Johnson player to watch: Aaron Jones Aaron Jones 5'10" | 210 lbs | RB Walter Johnson | 2021 State MD – There was uncertainty if Jones was going to play or not but in the end, he decided that he would. Jones is the top back in the county and you can expect him to impact the game in a multitude of ways. He can run it between the tackles, he can take it to the outside, and he can catch it out of the backfield expect him to torch the Churchill defense.
Churchill player to watch: Jaden Selby – Selby is one of the best up-and-coming quarterbacks in the county. Selby is accurate as he has good ball placement and always seems to put the ball in the right spot. Selby also has the ability to make the tough throws. He also has the mobility to throw on the run and make plays out of the pocket.
Poolesville @ Magruder
This should be a game of two like programs. Both programs aren’t amongst the top programs in the county but both are very solid programs that have silently been really solid in recent years. Both teams have had some really good players over the years so don’t be surprised to see some studs in this game.
Poolesville player to watch: There is no question as to who is the best player on this Falcons squad. This offense goes how Brown goes. Brown is the quarterback for this team but he does most of his damage with his legs. If Poolesville will be able to get Brown going on the ground he will put on a show.
Magruder player to watch: Andre Proctor – Proctor is an all-around player. He is a two-way player playing both receiver corner and even lining up in the backfield at times. On the defensive end, Proctor is a ball hawk corner that is not afraid to go downfield and make a play in the run game. Offensively Proctor is a physical receiver and uses his size and frame to make plays. Poolesville is going to have a tough time trying to stop Proctor so expect Magruder to try to make him a focal point of their game plan.
Einstein @ Kennedy
Einstein has built itself into a respectable program that will always be in the running for a winning record and a playoff spot. Kennedy has been one of the least successful programs in the county but that is changing. Kennedy is coming off a big win and over the past couple of years, they have shown massive improvement. This should be a good measuring stick game for both teams.
Einstein player of the year: Sahel Tchamba – Tchamba is undersized for a lineman but what he lacks for in size he macks up for in aggressiveness. Tchamba is a violent player and he is very physical. Tchamba plays with great technique as his pad level is low and he does a great job of getting his hands inside. He will make some impressive blocks this game and hopefully, Einstein is able to capitalize off of them.
Kennedy player to watch – Andy Santana – Standing at 6’3 Santana has the size that college coaches look for. He also has the talent that college coaches look for. He needs to improve his throwing motion and his velocity but he has the confidence to make big plays and it shows because he does make big plays. Santana will be a handful this game and expect Einstein to struggle to contain him.
