Lots of players are looking forward to seeing different schools and are hoping to make their college decision soon after. Other prospects didn’t need the visits and already decided to make their college decision public.
Here are a few prospects from the peach state who recently made their college commitments…
Jake Johnson Jake Johnson 6'5" | 210 lbs | TE Oconee County | 2022 State GA – Oconee County – Committed to LSU
Not only is the big 6-foot-5 225-pounder one of the top tight end prospects in Georgia, but he’s known as one of the best in the country as well. He’s the top-ranked tight end the country according to the 247 Composite Rankings and proved why after a big junior season. Not only did he help lead Oconee County all the way to the state championship game, but he caught 37 passes for 787 yards and 10 TDs in the process. He was 2nd in the state among tight ends in receiving yards, but he did flex out and play receiver as well during the season. He was a great option in the red-zone and always came down with a big catch or play when his team needed him. He had great bloodlines as well as his father Brad won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers and his older brother Max already plays for the Bayou Bengals. Johnson chose LSU over Alabama, Florida, Clemson, among others.

Dami’on Thompson – Pebblebrook – Coastal Carolina
The Chanticleer’s just came into Georgia and landed a commitment from one of the top WR prospects in Cobb County. They’re an up and coming college football program and it’s because they consistently find gems like Thompson. The. 6-foot-2 190-pounder was a consistent deep threat all year and has a knack for getting behind defenders down the field. He’s a good route-runner for his size proving that he’s more than a possession receiver. He does a great job of making tough catches on the sideline and regularly catches the ball with his strong hands instead of letting the ball get into his body. He was great after the catch as well and could over-power smaller defenders down the field. Thompson chose Coastal Carolina over Illinois, Buffalo, Kent State, and Troy.

Bryce Archie Bryce Archie 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB McEachern | 2022 State GA – McEachern – Coastal Carolina
Coastal Carolina landed an impressive commitment from WR Dami’on Thompson this week but already had their QB in the fold in McEachern’s Bryce Archie Bryce Archie 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB McEachern | 2022 State GA . One of the top baseball players in the area as well, Archie is a strong-armed gunslinger who knows how to run as well. It wasn’t the best year overall for McEachern, but the blame can’t be put on Archie. He’s an extremely talented and athletic playmaker who is only growing as a passer. He has good size and mobility to go with his impressive arm potential. He’ll be a multi-year starter for McEachern and he’s hoping to end his career on a high note in 2021. Archie committed to Coastal Carolina over UConn, FIU, Eastern Michigan, among others.
