At our Frisco showcase, we had some great talent from Texas and the surrounding areas show up to test their skills. The 2024 young pups showed up to battle against the upperclassmen, and they did not disappoint. Here are some of the top performers from the 2024 class.
DE/LB Kai Rigdon Kai Rigdon 6'2" | 230 lbs | DL Ferris | 2024 TX – Burleson
At 6’2, 230lbs, Rigdon was one of the more physically developed campers from the younger class, with his solidly built frame and comfort level in his growing body. His L-Drill time (7.63) was the 4th fastest in the camp, and he also put up an impressive 4.8 shuttle time. Rigdon’s quickness off the edge, high motor, and spin move landed him in the best of the best competition at the end of camp.
DE Tristan Bennett – Forney
Bennett was another of the soon-to-be sophomores that worked his way into the best of the best battles to wrap up the camp. At 6’0, 245lbs, his stout frame allows him to play low to the ground with good leverage. He is able to convert speed to power to get push off the edge, but can also cut the corner on a dime if he gets behind the tackle. Bennett has a variety of moves that make him a handful for OL.
DE Malik Cousin – Cedar Ridge
Cousin has a long, lean body at 6’2 229lbs, with plenty of room to pack on some muscle over the next couple of years. His 8’7 broad jump showed off his explosiveness. He is definitely a player to keep an eye on as he develops.
DL Christopher Simington – Jesuit Dallas
Simington has a stout frame at 6’, 225lbs. He displayed solid power at his size and has a good swat move to gain an inside release.
DT Kenan Breaud – Little Elm
Breaud is a run-stuffing plug in the middle of the DL at 5’8, 260lbs. He has a low center of gravity, with a stout and wide frame.
C/OG Jeremiah Swartz – Tower
Swartz has a solid frame at 5’11, 235lbs, with a strong base and plenty of room to fill out his upper body. He displayed a strong punch and anchor at the camp.
DE/LB Abdon Mata – Byron P. Steele
Mata is long and lean at 6’3, 205lbs. His shuttle time was an eye-popping 4.79, and he had an explosive 8’7 broad jump. As he settles into his height, he can develop into a force off the edge because of his quickness and length.
OT Jake Young – JJP High School
Young is a long and lean offensive lineman at 6’3 225lbs with plenty of room to fill out. He played with strong technique and could become a solid tackle prospect as he packs on muscle.
