WR Delvin Whittaker, Pattonville, c/o 21. One thing about Whittaker is that he finds a way to make plays. The 6’2 receiver has great footwork off the line and has good hands. He is also a dangerous weapon on kickoff return and punt return. Whittaker can be very difficult to take down when he’s in the open field. So far, he has 140 receiving yards and a touchdown for the spring season. His athletic ability will be a great matchup for a very talented Hazelwood Central defense.
DB DeMariun Hood, Hazelwood Central, c/o 22. So far, Hood has been a savage on defense. The junior defensive back doesn’t hesitate at all when it comes to causing turnovers or sacking the quarterback. Hood is a hard hitter and has great pursuit to the ball. Right now, he is leading the Hawks’ defense with 24 tackles and six sacks. He will be tested against a high powered Pattonville offense on Friday.
CB/WR Romano Gines, Hazelwood West c/o 22. Aside from the lost to Pattonville last week, Gines showed a lot of fight last weekend. He is a very physical
cornerback who is able to defeat blocks and tackles fairly well. He is also skilled in man coverage. Last week he had two pass breakups against the Pirates and seven total tackles. On the offensive side, he is a huge asset for West’s offense. Gines has great speed and agility, and he’s able to pick up a lot of yards on the jet sweep.
RB Jermaine Woods Jermaine Woods 5'10" | 195 lbs | LB University City | 2021 MO , University City, c/o 21. Woods had a field day against Normandy last weekend, running for 147 yards and two touchdowns. This weekend, he’s capable of doing it again against the same team. Woods has excellent down hill speed, and bulldozes anybody that’s in the way. He can also bounce to the outside to cover more field and gain more yards. Woods has 249 rushing yards and two touchdowns for the spring season so far.
WR Herven Cogio, Gateway STEM c/o 21. The Jaguars are putting on for the St. Louis City school district this spring, and Cogio plays a huge part. He has great speed down the field and can catch anything thrown to him. Cogio is a deep threat for quarterbacks and a dangerous receiver when it comes to the seam route. This spring he has 112 receiving yards and a
touchdown.
