I don’t know much about the 9-man classes, so I am also generalizing this assumption based on how many young players they had playing this year and how successful they turned out to be. Offensively, they had just the right pieces to run a spread formation effectively, resulting in a few high scoring games for them, putting up over 40 points in each of their victories this year except one. Defensively, ran a multiple 3-4, or 4-3 look, which worked out pretty well against the power-run formations, only giving up, at most 26 points in their victories, and never getting mercy-ruled against the powerhouse teams. With the Flyers only graduating two players and returning the rest of their lineup, that makes them a heavy favorite to make a big run in the 2021 season.
Players Lost: OL/DL Hunter Leisinger, OL/DL Caden Fods.
Players Returning:
QB/LB- Stratton Eppard Stratton Eppard QB Chester Area | 2022 State – ran the offense to a T this season. He was used in both the run and the pass and made big plays in both ways too. He had good vision and patience, waiting for his blocks to develop and then exploding for a big play. Passing the ball, he was mobile to get out of the pocket and let his receivers get downfield, usually looking to hit a home-run ball on each play.
LB- Sage Ottoson- is your responsibility player, not impatient trying to make plays all over the field, just does his job and makes the play when given the chance. He is not a ‘make an explosive play every play’ guy, he keeps it fundamentally sound and makes his plays quietly. He breaks down and wraps up, everything you could ask for in a defensive player.
WR/DB- Ryan Benson- was a good target in both vertical routes and short dump-off routes, he did a good job of getting himself open and noticed by the QB. He was also a good Specialty player, in both Kick Returns and Extra Points. He has good speed, hands and accuracy in is PAT kicks.
