RISING STARS IN 2023
Vic Sutton Vic Sutton 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Madison Central | 2023 State MS | QB | Madison Central
Although he was a bit of an unknown commodity earlier in the year, Vic Sutton Vic Sutton 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Madison Central | 2023 State MS has been one of the quickest rising names in the south. After adding some Group of Five offers, Virginia Tech and Arkansas pulled the trigger on Sutton this past April. This is only the beginning for him. The Madison Central product should dominate the camp circuit this summer and continue adding Power 5 offers across the country.
Tabias Hinton Tabias Hinton 6'3" | 220 lbs | DL Hattiesburg | 2023 State MS | DL | Hattiesburg
After a big time offer from Mississippi State came last month, blue blood Big 10 power Michigan extended an offer to Hinton this month. With his 18.5 sack season as a sophomore, Hinton is on track to have another huge season this year. His length and athleticism will make him one of the most highly recruited DL in MS in 2023.
Jamarious Brown Jamarious Brown 6'4" | 255 lbs | DL Moss Point | 2023 State MS | LB/DL | Moss Point
Brown has been one of the most highly recruited defensive players in the south, but this month added a big time offer from Florida. Florida rarely leaves the state of Florida and Georgia to find their guys, so it speaks volumes to Brown’s talent level that the Gators are trying to get in on him early.
COMMITMENTS
Wesley Miller Wesley Miller 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Heritage Academy | 2022 State MS | DB | Heritage Academy
The all star defensive back from Heritage Academy made the decision to commit to Mississippi State this month. The Bulldogs are getting a long athlete with a ton of versatility in the secondary. Miller is due for a big senior season, and the Mississippi State will have to fight to hold on to him.
Zach Wilcke Zach Wilcke 6'3" | 180 lbs | QB Hernando | 2022 State MS | QB | Hernando
Junior QB Zach Wilcke Zach Wilcke 6'3" | 180 lbs | QB Hernando | 2022 State MS committed to Southern Mississippi this month. The Golden Eagles have found their leader for the class and continue to dominate in state recruiting. Wilcke is a great fit for this offense with his athleticism and accuracy off of play action. Really undervalued prospect.
JUCOS ACTIVE INSTATE
The Mississippi junior college system is a fantastic way for prospects to continue playing, earn a degree, and showcase their talents to get recruited again. This past month, many of the state’s top junior colleges extended offers to players that have been undervalued for a while!
Mississippi Gulf Coast, the recent powerhouse in junior college football, offered multiple defenders this month. Names included were some of the guys we have been high on for a while. DB Avery Carter Avery Carter 6'5" | 185 lbs | DB Ocean Springs | 2022 State MS , LB Kelbee Holmes Kelbee Holmes 6'0" | 215 lbs | LB Neshoba Central | 2022 State MS , DB Ricky Fletcher, DB Kezerrian Wash, LB Jordan Allen Jordan Allen 6'4" | 200 lbs | LB Clarksdale | 2022 State MS , and LB JD Nanney were some of the best prospects MGCCC offered. There’s a common trend with these guys – they’re all long, fast, and have a great nose for the football.
Hinds was more focused on the offensive side of the ball. Extending offers to QB Eli Anderson Eli Anderson 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Neshoba Central | 2022 State MS , WR Dalton Keys, OL Logan Johnson Logan Johnson 6'3" | 295 lbs | OL West Lauderdale | 2022 State MS , and WR Ja’Naylon Dupree Ja’Naylon Dupree 5'10" | 160 lbs | WR Neshoba Central | 2022 State MS , Hinds looks to be trying to add some instant upgrades to their offense. These guys are all well equipped to run a system that loves to try to air it out.
Continue to watch our local junior colleges get in on some of the state’s biggest sleepers soon. With big senior seasons ahead, there will be plenty of roster spots needing to be filled.

Former Tupelo stand out and current WR coach at Utah Chad Bumphis extended an offer to Ole Miss commit Larry Simmons Larry Simmons 6'2" | 175 lbs | WR Moss Point | 2022 State MS . While the Rebels seem to have Simmons locked down, it is an interesting situation to watch nonetheless.
