Today we look at prospects from Tampa 8A District 10. There are a lot of young talented prospects and several sleeper prospects that could start getting looks for the next level. Prep Redzone Florida will always promote everybody in hopes of them getting the opportunity of playing college football at the next level. Big time players are spotlighted below!
Christopher Perkins Christopher Perkins RB Tampa Bay Tech | 2022 FL – Plant High
5’10 182lbs
Perkins is a prospect for Plant High that I believe is going to have a breakout season this year, he has very good burst and is a naturally elusive runner in tight quarters, he has very good patience, lateral agility and acceleration through the hole, he’s not just a finesse runner, he also shows the ability to run with power (500 lbs squat) when needed. Perkins is a good student with a 3.2 GPA and I believe with a strong supporting cast he could lead the county in rushing this season.

J.C. Roque- Newsome High c/o 23
5’9 160lbs
Roque is a nice back that rushed for 528 yards, five touchdowns and averaged over at 11 yards per carry! He has very good speed, he gets to the edge quickly and doesn’t waste time hitting the crease extremely fast for big gains. He has really good balance and terrific agility, even though he’s light in frame he doesn’t take big hits and knows how to protect himself.

Jason Albritton – Newsome High
5’10 215lbs
Albritton is one of the best power backs in the Bay Area. He’s rushed for over 2,500 yards and 28 touchdowns in his career. He is a classic plant and go running back with excellent vision, and quickness, he does a really good job following his blocks and finding openings in the second level, he also shows a nice stiff arm. He runs with good pad level and power (325lbs bench), and is a move the chains back. He was first team all-county last season. He’s an outstanding student with a 4.57 GPA!

Drew Dempsey- Newsome High
5’11 175lbs
Dempsey is a solid running back that rushed for 364 yards, 4 touchdowns and averaged over 7 yards per carry. Dempsey is a slasher who makes his read quickly and gets up field. He’s a very good athlete as well, showing the ability to leap over defenders and also has good hands and can be used on all three downs. He’s got very good strength for his size benching 265lb and squatting 375lb. Dempsey is an incredible student with a 5.1 GPA!

Reginald Bush- Plant City
5’8 175lbs
Bush is a prospect that I believe will be one if the best break-out players in the Tampa area this season, last year he rushed for 488 yards, three touchdowns and averaged over eight yards per carry. He makes quick decisive cuts and eludes defenders with ease when he’s in the open field, and his acceleration stands out, he possesses unique balance and the ability to make something out of nothing with defenders bearing down on him. He’s a very gifted runner that schools need to take notice of.

Romello Jones- Plant City
6’0 178lbs
Jones is one of the best all-around athletes in the state, last season he rushed for 604 yards, 9 touchdowns, and averaged over 8 yards per carry. He is equally good on the defensive side of the ball as he is on the offensive side, he’s a tremendous football player that can play a multitude of positions at the next level. Jones is electric with the ball in his hands, he shows tremendous speed (4.4 40) in film, he reads blocks extremely well, sets up defenders and rips off big runs consistently. His film is impressive and he’s also a good student with a 3.2 GPA. Currently has two offers from Army and Navy.

Jay’Den Birch Jay’Den Birch RB Bradenton Braden River | 2022 FL – Sarasota Riverview
5’11 195lbs
Birch is a nice prospect, he has a well built compact frame, last season he rushed for 294 yards and 5 touchdowns. This season his production could double with him being the lead back for Riverview, he runs with patience, a lot of power, and consistently bounces off tacklers. He’s a player to keep an eye on this season.
