Justin Brown, Grossmont, 2021
Grossmont had an impressive week hanging close in a game against one of the better programs in San Diego, Helix. They largely were in the game because of Justin Brown’s performance. Brown threw for 482 yards and four touchdowns and also ran for a touchdown. He is also a key player on the baseball team at Grossmont.
Richie Munoz Richie Munoz 6'0" | 195 lbs | QB Charter Oak | 2023 State CA , La Salle, 2023
Munoz threw for six touchdowns in La Salle’s high-scoring win over Salesian last week. The sophomore quarterback also can make plays with his legs. He rushed for a team-high 78 yards on just nine carries. Munoz has offers from San Jose State and Nevada. He threw for 30 touchdowns as a freshman last season and is a rising prospect to keep an eye on.

Maalik Murphy Maalik Murphy 6'5" | 225 lbs | QB Serra - Gardena | 2022 State CA , Serra, 2022
Murphy is one of the top quarterbacks in the nation for the class of 2022 but his on field production hasn’t matched the level we expected for an elite recruit like him. Murphy lit it up against Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks last week, throwing for 301 yards and three touchdowns in a 29-14 win. Murphy is committed to Texas but if he starts putting up big games, other schools will still try to steal him.

Dylan Neal, Fullerton, 2021
Fullerton has been a surprise team in Orange County this season and it’s largely due to Neal’s outstanding quarterback play. He completed 14 of 19 passes for 338 yards and six touchdowns in an easy win over crosstown foe Troy. Neal has thrown for 10 touchdowns and just two interceptions through three games. He will lead Fullerton in a huge game this week against Sunny Hills for the Fullerton City Championship and likely a second place finish in the Freeway League.

Malachi Nelson Malachi Nelson 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Los Alamitos | 2023 State CA , Los Alamitos, 2023
The aforementioned Murphy is the top quarterback prospect in the 2022 class and Nelson is the top quarterback in the 2023 class. He has been having a fantastic sophomore season and has made so much progress since his freshman year. Nelson threw for a school-record seven touchdown passes, all of which in the first half in a rout of Huntington Beach. In the second half, the coaching staff made him the offensive coordinator and he got to coach up his backup and prospect Aidan Chiles Aidan Chiles 6'4" | 195 lbs | QB Downey | 2023 State CA . Nelson has offers from all the major schools.
