Below are the players who had the best passing performances last week.
Elijah Brown, Mater Dei, 2024
He’s gotten a lot of press last week for his performance in a huge game against St. John Bosco last week and it’s well-deserved. Brown completed 14 of 23 passes for 203 yards and threw four touchdown passes in the big win. Mater Dei quarterbacks who start as freshman have a 100 percent success rate: Todd Marinovich, Matt Barkley and JT Daniels. His performance against Bosco was so good that Utah offered him a scholarship this week.

Jayden Denegal Jayden Denegal 6'5" | 230 lbs | QB Apple Valley | 2022 State CA , Apple Valley, 2022
Denegal is considered a pro style quarterback on recruiting websites but he led Apple Valley to a big win over Culver City with his arm and his legs. He ran for four touchdowns and had an effective day passing as well. Prior to the game against Culver City, he completed an insane 80 percent of his passes with 11 touchdowns and no interceptions. He has a lot of offers and Michigan State appears to be the front runner to land him.

Jaylen Henderson Jaylen Henderson 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Chaminade College Prep | 2021 State CA , Chaminade, 2021
Henderson was the best senior quarterback in the state this season. Chaminade played against really strong programs all season long like Serra, Bishop Amat and Alemany. He completed 12 of 16 passes for 339 yards and five touchdowns in a 42-20 win against Cathedral of Los Angeles last week. This season he completed 68 percent of his passes for 1402 yards and 15 touchdowns through five game for the Nade. Fresno State is getting a potential All-Conference quarterback for the next four years.

Hudson Jones, San Juan Hills, 2021
Jones is a three-year starter at San Juan Hills and improved tremendously from his sophomore season to his senior season. He went from a game manager quarterback who the coaching staff asked very little of to a team leader who the offense was built around. Jones finished his high school career with a great game in a one-point loss to crosstown rival Tesoro. He completed 29 of 40 passes for 303 yards and three touchdowns. He doesn’t have any offers at the moment but if he decides to continue his playing career he has the skillset and big game experience to succeed.

Aidan Sayin, Carlsbad, 2021
Sayin led the best team in the San Diego Section all year long and he cemented himself as the best senior quarterback in the county. He finished his high school career with a blowout win over Granite Hills. In that game he completed 13 of 16 passes for 285 yards and five touchdowns. He completed 72 percent of his passes this season with 13 touchdowns and no interceptions for the top team in the region. Sayin is committed to Penn and his younger brother Julian will take over the Lancers’ quarterback duties this fall.
