Below is a list of some of two-way players across the region that have next level potential at some level and who are poised for big Fall seasons.
Carlos Wilson, Inderkum HS
Wilson is one of the most explosive athletes across Northern California and the entire state. Already holding Pac-12 offers, he is a two-way stand out with elite speed and overall athletic ability. Flashing strong lateral movement abilities/short area quickness and foot speed, he is a dynamic player that could collect 10 more FBS offers before graduation.
Akio Martinson, Del Oro HS
Akio is a FBS caliber prospect that is an anchor on the interior of the OL/DL. Having a very solid and strong build with little bad weight, he shows a strong initial punch and plays with good physicality and toughness. Showing a good base upon contact and sustaining blocks well, he is also an active interior defender with goos use of hands and a low pad level. He should start to see his recruiting stock rise in the coming months.
Bobby Piland Bobby Piland 6'2" | 295 lbs | DL Rocklin | 2022 State CA , Rocklin HS
Piland is one of the most dominant lineman in all of Norcal and even the state. Able to play on the defensive side of the ball at the next level, he is extremely strong at the point of attack and plays with heavy hands and low pad level, while doing a good job at locking out blockers with good extension and converting speed to power from his interior rushes while rushing the passer. He is a FBS caliber player that will be one of the most dominant lineman the region has to offer.
CJ McMillan, Capital Christian HS
McMillan is a high upside prospect at the next level that is coming off his first season playing football for the Cougars. Having a rare combination of size and movement abilities, he has tons of untapped potential and will be a steal in the 2022 recruiting class for someone that takes a chance on him. Playing with strong hands and good power at the point of attack, he is athletic enough to play on the edge but strong enough to kick inside. Still a developing player, he will continue to make strides technically and could develop into a special prospect as he continues to understand the game and get acclimated to the position.
Toe Tatafu, Inderkum HS
Tatafu is a dominant force on both sides of the ball and can play at the next level. On tape, he is a patient pass blocker with a violent punch while playing with a good finish and can sustain blocks at the first level. While more of a phone booth blocker, he shows good first step explosion and leg drive through out his blocks and can thrive in the right blocking scheme at the next level.
Anthony Parker, Whitney HS
Parker is a very well put together back with a strong build and ideal size for the position. Having good speed in the open field, he can run the ball North and South while quick enough to be effective outside the tackles and strong enough to gain the tough yards inside while running through arm tackles and showing good contact balance upon first contact.
Austin McMillan, Folsom HS
McMillan is a two-way star for one of the top teams in the state and can make a positive impact at the next level. He is a rangy safety with good closing speed and open field tackling ability, while taking good angles to ball carriers and not taking false steps while breaking. Also having good ball skills and fluid hips in space, he is a FCS ceiling prospect that should collect his first offers heading into the Fall.
Lamont Burrell, Sacramento HS
Burrell is one of the most under the radar prospects in the Sacramento area and has good length and upside at the next level. A true vertical threat that can stretch the field, he has strong hands and good ball location abilities/body control in traffic while physical in run support and overall a very tough player that can make a big impact at the next level.
Other Names To Note….
ATH Ethan Archuleta, Elk Grove HS
WR Cameron Sampson, Capital Christian HS
