Summit Spartan Brothers Destin, Keaten Wade Commit to Kentucky

Two of the top prospects in the entire state for the 2022 class, Summit (TN) brothers Destin Wade Destin Wade 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Summit | 2022 State TN and Keaten Wade Keaten Wade 6'4" | 215 lbs | LB Summit | 2022 State TN closed out their recruitments this week by both deciding to play together in the Southeastern Conference.
On Friday, the Wade’s live from their high school gym, made their decision public by choosing to commit to the Kentucky Wildcats over other finalists Ole Miss, Tennessee and Virginia.
This was a huge win for Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops and staff as well as the entire program as the Wade brothers are two highly talented young men with tons of upside that could come in early and earn immediate playing time.
It was also a big win for the Cats as they pulled two top tier prospects out of Tennessee, a rival state and the backyard of several other SEC football programs.
This was a long recruitment for the Wade’s as they picked up tons of high quality offers, they took a lot of visits and listened to everything all the coaches from around the country had to tell them.
In the end, it was Kentucky that stood out the most for both Destin and Keaten as the Wildcats provided everything they both were looking for in a college experience.
Now what does the Wade brothers bring to Lexington? Tons of talent and upside that has yet to be filled.
Over on defense, Keaten has elite written all over him as he has the size (6’4 225 lbs) length, physicality and athleticism to develop into a dominant outside linebacker with NFL upside.
He has a unique ability to put himself exactly on the spot to make a play on the ball whenever he is on the field. His instincts and smooth moving lower body allows Keaten to almost always be the first man to the ball and when he gets there, you will certainly feel him.
Keaten has the ability to be a force against the run but also has the skill set to drop back into coverage and be a nuisance for the opposing quarterback.
It would not be surprising at all to see Keaten step onto campus in Kentucky and immediately carve out a role on defense and play in Game one of the 2022 Fall season.
On the other side of the ball, Destin is a multi talented natural athlete that will get a look at quarterback for the Wildcats and he fits their system but he has all the physical tools to develop into another position, if and when it’s needed.
The Spartans star quarterback is a threat to beat you with both his arm and his legs. He is dangerous when he hits the open field because Destin has the athleticism and speed to find the end zone with his legs at any given time.
He also has a big arm and can make the deep throws but he must continue developing his mechanics and overall feel for the quarterback position if he plans to remain there in college.
If it doesn’t work out at quarterback, Destin certainly has the size (6’4 210), athleticism and playmaking abilities to develop at a new position, possibly tight end, linebacker or even defensive end. He has big upside in the game of football but it will take time to see if it’s at quarterback or another position.
Adding the Wade brothers to the Cats 2022 class had to be a major priority for Coach Stoops and staff as they are highly talented players that not just provide talent on the field but high character as well.
These are two young men that will carry the Kentucky banner well and do so in a respectful way as they love playing the game of football and will do anything to help build and grow the Cats brand into a national contender.
Next step for the Wade’s is to keep training and getting better as they are looking to repeat as state champions and leave their time at Summit high school and head to Kentucky with a strong legacy that will be very hard to duplicate.
