Continue ReadingThe state of Alabama has gone above and beyond with production of talent at QB with the class of 2022. Division 1 schools can create recruiting boards at the signal caller position just based off of available options within the state. Let’s take a look at some of the top talent QB prospects for 2022.
Tanner Bailey Tanner Bailey 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Gordo | 2022 State AL | Gordo
Bailey committed to Oregon early in March and has one of the most overwhelmingly impressive offer sheets of any player in state this go around. When watching the Gordo native’s tape it becomes apparent why he has his choice of where to play his college ball. Bailey will be labeled as a pro-style guy but don’t let that fool you into thinking he is a pass only type. Smooth athleticism is present and has to be accounted for within the makeup of the rising senior. Bailey has great feel for the game and specifically the pocket around him. Eyes that are mature way beyond his years pop off the tape as he surveys defenses and makes decisions and could be his best overall attribute at this time. Next level work with QB coaches will help refine his long throwing motion and should help him continue to grow as a passer. The sky is the limit and the future is bright here.
Conner Harrell Conner Harrell 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Thompson | 2022 State AL | Thompson
Harrell has no shortage of offers going into his final spring camp of high school, and with a big senior year that list will only grow. Harrell is a prime candidate to star as a dual threat QB in today’s RPO style schemes. Dynamic athletic ability that can potentially take over games is present along with a big arm. Impressive accuracy is found along with that arm strength. Ability to make difficult throws outside of the pocket and under pressure from defenders. As Harrell matures physically and technically he will find more schools calling. Lots of unteachable tools here. Harrell is right on the fringe of being a Power 5 guy.
Khalib Johnson Khalib Johnson 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Clay-Chalkville | 2022 State AL | Clay-Chalkville
Johnson threw for nearly 2,500 yards and 25 TD’s as a JR and since has seen his recruitment take off. Another game changer athletically at the QB position who shows way more strength than you’d expect out of his frame. Johnson is a bit of a short armer of the football which can impact accuracy at times but is teachable. Good vision both as a passer and runner is evident. Smooth and level headed. Johnson appears to be poised for a big senior campaign.
The QB position is very impressive statewide for this cycle but there is no doubt that all three of these guys are potential program changers at the Division 1 level.
