If this very talent could be tapped into fully, the possibilities of their overall success would be amazing. Not only do they have well rounded prospects on both sides of the ball, but these same players are beginning to gain the attention of college programs and coaches across the country. As the 2021 season slowly approaches, and summer conditioning and training is about to be underway, we fully expect the Gladiators to have a turnaround this season, while some of their younger, key players from last season will step up to the plate.
Terian Williams- DB / WR
Entering into his senior year, Williams will likely be one of the bigger pieces to any of the success that the Gladiators will experience. This is due to the fact that he plays DB, WR, and he even sees time on special teams as well. Williams plays with a great feel for the game, and he has an awesome burst, and explosive ability with the ball in his hands. This same ability translates to his defensive play, as he is able to change direction on the dime, and get to multiple levels of the field in a flash. His length contributes to his range, and this helps him to be able to make good plays on the ball. Plays include turnovers, or pass break ups. Williams also has great speed, as he is able to slash through the defense, or to be able to get out of his breaks to come up and make tackles. This upcoming season, we want to see him continue to dominate in every single way that he already does, and to add to his vision, and fluidity of movement.
LeBron Morgan- CB
Going into the 2021 season, Morgan will likely be one of the key players in the Gladiator’s secondary. While he can play with tight hips at times, he has good feet, and good eyes in coverage. This helps him to be able to match up well, and to play with discipline. He also plays with decent, but not overwhelming speed, but is able to stay in the hip pocket of receivers. Morgan also has a slight bend to his movement, which is good for fluidity. Next season, we would like to see more man to man situations down the field, but are confident in his ability to play zone coverage. With this, while we see him making tackles at times, we would also like to see him play more aggressively.
Tyler Gibson Tyler Gibson 6'5" | 285 lbs | OL Johns Creek | 2022 State GA – OL
Gibson is an instrumental part of the team’s offense, as his overall blocking ability, and strength in his stance helps him to absorb impact, and trade blows off of the ball. He rolls his hips well into defenders, and engages well with his hands. While he can get caught being a bit wide at times, his overall stance and footwork are solid for his age. Barnett also has a big, and wide frame, which helps him dominate some of his competition. This is a big reason for any of the running success that the team has. As he continues to grow into his body, we would like to see him work on decreasing the amount of false steps he has, and his use of technique. This will take his game to the next level.
Micah Gay Micah Gay 6'0" | 190 lbs | LB John's Creek | 2022 State GA – LB
One thing Gay is not scared of is firing off of the football. This is evident in the way he approaches the run. Not only does he come up and make contact, but he delivers a pop when doing so. The angles that Gay takes, and the speed that he plays with allows him to stop ball carriers in their tracks. We also acknowledge Gay’s footwork, and his ability to play with good vision, and an understanding of the opposing offense. The fact that he plays with such confidence and discipline often times dictates his success. Gay also tackles well in pursuit, and does a good job of using his hands. In 2021, we would love to see him continue to build on top of this ability, and to work on his drop steps, and ability to play efficiently in coverage.
