We will also take in a few “first looks” at the film of some Raiders that we haven’t scouted a ton but found a few more that have good upside.
Uriah Glynn Uriah Glynn 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB RC Stevens | 2022 State , RB (2022)
Glynn has laid out one of the loveliest running back films I have watched in the Dakotas. The first thing that stands out about this young man is his ability to explode when he sees the space he likes. He has excellent stamina and has good bounce-off tacklers to accumulate significant yards after contact. Glynn is a tailback that plays significantly more prominent than his size and has a deadly one-cut running ability. The first 30 seconds of his film alone will show you why he’s the #1 tailback in the Dakotas. Glynn has plenty of college interest on the board from NAIA all the way up to the Division I level.
Kadin Nelson, WR (2022)
Tonight was my first look tonight at Nelson’s film. Nelson shows off to be the #1 passing target for the Raiders. He is a versatile WR that can roll in plenty of different packages. Nelson does a solid job adjusting his feet on the move based on where the ball is headed. He also shows a quality stop route with a solid dig in his feet which can be challenging for a prospect of his size. I look to see Nelson on our upcoming Class of 2022 rankings update in the coming months as I came away impressed with his tape tonight.
Gavin Skinner Gavin Skinner 6'0" | 190 lbs | LB Rapid City Stevens | 2022 State , LB (2022)
Skinner is a prospect I have known from our last rankings update, and his film continues to impress to this day. Skinner’s reaction steps as a linebacker stand out to me in his film, and his strong vision points him in the right direction of where the ball is going. He nails the footwork on where he is going and is a linebacker that can work his magic sideline to sideline. He can develop an even bigger burst off the snap this offseason, but all in all, this kid 100% has what it takes to play at the college level and has been hearing a ton from Division II programs in the Northern Sun and the RMAC.
Ben Goldy, OL (2022)
Goldy has a massive frame (6’8,280) that could have a chance at the next level with some development. When I watched his film, I was hoping to see a more significant push on the line from Goldy, but he did an excellent job of pushing his opponent far away from the ball carriers. He needs development in the speed department of his footwork and can use that size to his full advantage as he should be able to dominate mostly smaller defensive linemen. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Goldy on our rankings in the comings months as well.
Eli Oxner, DB, (2022)
Oxner is one of the stronger jammers at cornerback I have gotten to watch in the Dakotas. Oxner does an excellent job closing the gaps when the ball is coming his way and has a long reach in his 6’0 frame. Oxner is a right play, right time kind of prospect, and instead of overstepping for an interception, he’ll make the team play every time. He shows a strong running ability in multiple ways when playing with his WR. This young man also has good intangibles away from the cornerback position as he presses the gas just as hard on special teams gunning for a big play while in pursuit of the return man. I see Oxner as a definite top 5 DB prospect on the upcoming rankings in the Class of 2022 in the Dakotas.
Luke Chiolis Luke Chiolis 6'2" | 210 lbs | LB Rapid City Stevens | 2022 , LB (2022)
Chiolis has to be one of Raider’s best-kept secrets as far as next-level college prospects. Chiolis has a bone-crushing tackling ability and stays super level on every tackle. Every single play in the first minute of the film you watch on Chiolis. He has excellent vision and shows good patience in waiting for his play to develop. I certainly think the duo between Chiolis and Gavin Skinner Gavin Skinner 6'0" | 190 lbs | LB Rapid City Stevens | 2022 State is one of the best linebacker duos the West River has to offer, and I believe Chiolis is projected to be a top 5 linebacker in the Dakotas when the new rankings come out in the coming months.
Hayden Gebhart, DB (2023)
Gebhart shows off an intense burst when in pursuit and a physical tackling ability. Gebhart, in my eyes, needs to adjust his film to put some of his more marquee plays towards the front of his film as I found myself waiting for a solid play to develop, but then around the 1:00 minute mark, his tape started to show the potential he has in his game. A super physical prospect that has some time to develop that film and a stronger backpedal.
Jed Jenson, QB (2023)
The last time I got my eyes on Jenson, the film was limited, but I finally got some film on Jenson and came away impressed. Jensen shows a quick trigger to be able to extend plays with his legs. He also looks to show his best arm strength inside 10-15 yards. I feel on film this kid had plenty of pressure coming his way on every play on film, and if his offensive line can give him more time in 2021, I feel he develop stronger poise in the pocket.
Tape. vs. Sioux Falls O’Gorman
Isaac Knight, WR (2022)
Knight has a very impressive burst off the line, and I feel he is flying under the radar due to his limited targets on film. He has a remarkable stop route and, although not the biggest slot WR on the field, will pave what he can for his teammates to get upfield. Not sure the reps he gets in the return game, but I feel his speed could be a significant asset on the Raider’s special teams unit and allow the state’s best RB to lock in even more on his carries at tailback.
Alex Trohkimoinen, WR (2022)
Tape vs. Sioux Falls Washington
Tanner Lunders, DB (2022)
Tape vs. Sioux Falls Roosevelt
Colton Lauen, OL (2022)
Lauen is another sizeable prospect on the Raider’s offensive line with sound measurables at 6’6, 285. Dominant high school wrestler.
Brandon Inman, LB (2022)
Cade Sobczak, WR/DB (2022)
Zach Brunsch, LB (2022)
