But who are the 2021 and 2022 guys in Va you should watch for over the next few years?
- 2022 Liberty Christian (Lynchburg) OL Zach Rice Zach Rice 6'6" | 280 lbs | OL Liberty Christian Academy | 2022 State VA
Number one for me was a no-brainer, Rice is the number one prospect in the state in his class and honestly is one of the best to come along in a while. Rice is big, mean, physical, all the things you want your star lineman to be and he has had his choice of schools over his recruiting process. We now have a better idea of where Rice will go as he recently cut his list down to the five schools he will be visiting. UVA, Ohio State, UNC, Alabama, and Notre Dame are the five Rice is going to choose from and any one of them is a good choice.
It would not surprise me to see Rice being a top ten pick one day.
2. 2021 Robinson (Fairfax) OT Tristan Leigh
Leigh, who chose Clemson as his college destination is the perfect size at 6’6″ and 290lbs. What also impresses me about Leigh is the fact that he stayed around for his senior season at Robinson, as they lost in the regional title game against South County. When you turn on his tape, and think about where he is going, their track record, and the staff he will be surrounded by at Clemson, you can see the potential to be a first-round pick in a future draft, the only thing Leigh needs to do now, is capitalize on all of that, take advantage of it, and continue to grow and perfect his craft and maybe one day we will hear his name called as one of the elite players in the draft.
3. 2021 Highland Springs DT Kelvin Gilliam Jr
Gilliam, an Oklahoma commit is a proven winner with two state titles, and possibly a third coming to him. Gilliam is 6’4″ and 260lbs, just the right size at DT with a little room o grow also. Going to a proven NFL factory with the Sooners, Gilliam, like Leigh will have all the tools needed to become a top-flight player at his position before his college career is all said and done. Gilliam also isn’t the only Springer headed for Norman, Ok, as teammate and highly-touted DB Damond Harmon is also going to play for Lincoln Riley in the Big 12.
