Trequon Fegans Trequon Fegans 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Thompson | 2022 State AL | Oxford
Trequan Fegans has been no stranger to the recruiting game. He’s been a highly touted prospect since he entered high school. The Fegans family has already produced one defensive back, Antwon Fegans, who signed Division 1 with Arkansas State in 2020. Trequon looks to follow his brother’s footsteps soon. The do it all playmaker lines up all over the field for Oxford, but best projects as a future corner. At 6’2″, he has the rare length and size to be elite at the position. Fegans has good speed and hip fluidity to match his incredible ball skills. Teams rarely test his side of the field as it is almost a guaranteed PBU or INT. He lists offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georiga, and Miami among many.
Laquan Robinson Laquan Robinson 6'2" | 195 lbs | DB Greenville | 2022 State AL | Greenville
Another long defensive back, Robinson plays multiple roles on the field. While his future is at box safety, this guy is flat out fun to watch. He has great speed and flies around the field to make plays. When at safety, Robinson is used as a blitzer and in pass coverage. He is an incredibly hard hitter and brings the boom every time he makes an open field tackle. Against the pass, Robinson has good hips and can read the quarterback’s eyes well. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him grow into an uber-athletic linebacker by the time he enters college. Love his upside anywhere on a defense. Robinson lists offers from Auburn, Florida State, and Ole Miss.
Kylon Griffin Kylon Griffin 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB Montgomery Catholic | 2022 State AL | Montgomery Catholic
A recent Mississippi State commit, Kylon Griffin Kylon Griffin 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB Montgomery Catholic | 2022 State AL is a versatile defensive back whose future home is most likely at safety. What stands out most about him is his value in the return game. Griffin can find the open seem, hit it, and go for the touchdown with ease. He has good length and plays off man coverage exceptionally well. While most defensive backs get a bad rep for not wanting anything to do with contact, Griffin is quite the opposite. He does a great job getting off blocks and making open field tackles against the run. Hard to find a better man coverage player in the state. The Bulldogs got a good one.
Jakobi Albert Jakobi Albert 6'0" | 175 lbs | ATH Fairfield | 2022 State AL | Fairfield
Long defensive backs who can run are hard to find. Jakobi Albert Jakobi Albert 6'0" | 175 lbs | ATH Fairfield | 2022 State AL does just that. A borderline athlete projection, Albert plays both WR and defensive back well. He is explosive in the open field and has great burst when he turns it on. Albert can read the quarterbacks eyes well and quickly trigger on the pass being thrown, covering a ton of ground on his way over. Albert has awesome ball skills and frequently forces turn overs. He also tackles well in the open field. Future big time player at the college level. Defensive backs like him usually pan out very well. Albert lists offers from Auburn, Georgia, and Michigan among many other Power 5s.
TJ Banks TJ Banks 6'0" | 200 lbs | DB Fairhope | 2022 State AL | Fairhope
TJ Banks TJ Banks 6'0" | 200 lbs | DB Fairhope | 2022 State AL recently came onto the scene just last season. He is built like a tank at 6’2″ 200 and is a naturally strong and powerful kid. Last season, Banks played a corner role, but due to his strength he may be best placed inside at safety. Banks transitions well and can come up and jump routes before the quarterback can tell what is going on. This guy is an absolute head hunter. He comes up and delivers big blows to offensive players with good form. Absolutely love the swagger he plays with too. Really surprised he isn’t one of the more highly recruited players in the state. Banks currently lists offers from Auburn and Tennessee, but more teams should follow soon.
