These are the guys that are actively trying to get recruited, and are doing their part to get a shot at the next level. Here are the offensive and defensive spotlights of the week:
Offensive Spotlight
Gabe Hoffmann, TE, 6’6″ 225lbs, Eastside Catholic HS (C/O ’23)
Film: https://www.hudl.com/profile/12851840/Gabe-Hoffmann
Hoffmann is a very impressive sophomore that hold true FBS potential. He sizes up with a strong, athletic build and will only continue to progress and get better throughout his high school career. Big body kid that can line u as a down TE, off-set, or in the slot. He’s a very good blocker in the run game and has opened up clear lanes for his ball carriers. Functional strength and has shown the ability to drive opponents backward after initial contact. Excellent understanding of leverage to manhandle opponents and his size and strength only adds to his ability to be nasty in the run game. He does a good job getting to the second level to block downfield when he needs to as well. Solid route runner from the slot as he sets up his routes fairly well and often generates clear separation. He’s shown his football IQ by knowing where to sit in the soft spot of zone coverage to make himself a target, and runs well after the catch. He also plays Basketball and holds a 4.0 GPA, with off the charts potential, and has been invited to numerous camps.

Defensive Spotlight
Kenyatta McNeese, DB, 5’11” 175lbs, Olympia HS (C/O ’23)
Film: https://www.hudl.com/profile/14871304/Kenyatta-Mcneese-Jr
McNeese transferred to Olympia High from Enterprise High School in Alabama, and has been a huge asset for Olympia. He was named to the 1st team “All-League Defense” as a DB as a sophomore. Excellent instincts at safety with the athleticism to roam the field and make plays. He’s a fly around player for Olympia and projects to be a threat on the defensive side of the ball for the next few seasons. He takes a good pursuit track to the ball and is strong at the POA. He’s very good in run support as he consistently wraps up ball carriers and can be a solid one on one tackler as well. He shows solid speed and range in both run support and coverage and covers ground very well to close on ball carriers or receivers. He’s showed signs of the potential to devlope into a big striker, as he plays fearless and also gives 100%. McNeese has a very high ceiling and will be a fun player to follow the next couple years, and should be on your radar.
