Fouts sizes up with good length and is developing into your prototypical X or Z receiver. He does a great job getting vertical and getting over the top of DB’s, as he was a clutch deep threat for Olympia. He tracks the ball well and runs down those deep balls in the back half. He has deceptive speed as he has shown the ability to burn past quick DB’s, as he covers ground well with his length. Although he does his best work stretching the field, he does a good job securing the catch while anticipating contact on shallow and intermediate routes. You can tell he knows when he’s about to get hit, but prioritizes the ball before contact. He’s flashed his field awareness a little on tape, as he gets to the sticks on hitches, outs, and comebacks. Despite Fouts posing as a solid deep threat, I would like to see him clean up his shallow and intermediate routes more. If he can achieve that explosiveness and sell those shallow and intermediates, Fouts will be a scary receiver to line up against in the future. He was also invited to the January National Preps showcase in Washington a while back.
Thanks for the invite @NPShowcases excited for the opportunity. @BrandonHuffman @ttherzog @OlyBearFootball pic.twitter.com/IqGxJt1XLI

Defensive Spotlight
Cedric Washington, DB, 5’11” 165lbs, Meadowdale HS ’22
Film: https://www.hudl.com/profile/12828417/Cedric-Washington
Washington stepped up big in his junior season for Meadowdale as he was able to force 8 PBU’s and recover a fumble and take it 70+ yards for a scoop and score. He was also able to record 15 tackles as a CB. Washington does a good job tracking and staying on the hip of receivers not letting anyone get over the top of him. He shows solid patience in man coverage and isn’t overly aggressive or lunging. He’s showcased solid recovery speed to close well on the ball to force PBU’s. Washington has a good understanding of zone responsibilities and looks collected during developing routes and concepts. He has solid speed all across the board, as he’s shown the ability to hawk down breakaway ball carriers on the opposite side of the field to prevent scores. He can improve his strength at the POA, and needs to improve as a tackler overall. However, he is very strong in coverage and projects to be a ball hawk next season.
