The 2022 class is not any different with a large number of impressive running backs that are lighting up the radar. The state of Arkansas has every type of running back that the scouts are looking for this season. Today we are going to take a look at five running backs for everyone to take notice of this season.
Daryl Searcy Jr.-Joe T. Robinson
The Joe T. Robinson running back does not go down on initial contact and can be a nightmare to bring down. Searcy Jr. is a threat to take it the distance from anywhere on the field. He has impressive speed and does not mind running between the tackles. Searcy Jr. is just as effective running the football between the tackles or cutting it to the outside. He has a good mix of power and speed that makes it tough for defensive players to bring him down. Searcy Jr. has the potential to have a big season, as do the Robinson Senators. Scouts should pay attention to him; he has the talent to light it up on the field and have an excellent season.
Matthew Huff Matthew Huff 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Jessieville | 2022 State AR -Jessieville
Huff is a running back that you like to watch run between the tackles. He has the speed and the power to run over defensive linemen. Huff has the speed to cut outside the tackles and force the linebackers and defensive backs to tackle him. However, Huff does not just run the ball well, he works effectively as a receiver out of the backfield. Any running back that has punched the ball in the end zone over 30 times is going to be an intriguing player to examine. Huff simply produces, once he gets going, he is a tough running back to stop. Scouts should take a long look at Huff; they will not be disappointed in what they see.
Isaiah Broadway-Sylvan Hills
Isaiah Broadway is a powerhouse at the running back position. Broadway is a player that will force two or three tacklers to bring him down. He will not be brought down on initial contact. The facet of Broadway’s game that does not get enough credit is his speed. He is a threat to take it the distance from anywhere on the field. Broadway provides a reliable target out of the backfield for his quarterback. He is a nice check down and can pick up extra yardage in the passing game. With multiple scholarship offers on the table Broadway is setting the stage for a huge season for Sylvan Hills.
Darryl Kattich Darryl Kattich 6'0" | 195 lbs | RB Cedarville | 2022 State AR -Cedarville
Kattich is a two-time All-State running back that is shooting for the three peat. He has rushed for over 3,000 yards for the Cedarville Pirates and from the looks of things he is just getting started. Kattich has displayed tremendous athletic ability and he runs with a chip on his shoulder. Scouts will love how patient he is when it comes to setting up his blocks. He does a great job in allowing the rushing lanes to develop before he selects the lane to rush through. The Cedarville Pirates are going to be a fun team to watch and Kattich has the potential to have a big season, so get out to Cedarville this season.
Jaylen Hopson Jaylen Hopson 5'7" | 160 lbs | RB Prescott | 2022 State AR -Prescott
Hopson is a running back that is a headache for the opposing defense to contend whether it be running the football or catching the ball. He is extremely quick and can make good defensive players look bad when he makes a cut and leaves them behind. Hopson does a great job of catching the football and is a receiving threat. He creates separation with his speed, and he does not drop passes. The Curley Wolves are loaded this season in terms of talent and a trip to Prescott is something that scouts should consider making this season. Hopson is another running back that has the potential to have a big season this season.
