A few of these athletes have been highly recruited for a while now, while others have just seen a start to their recruitment with a big spark. Penn State is a program to keep an eye on for these Washington guys, as they have offered 4 out of the 6 guys on this list. Take a look at some 2023’s that are heating up their recruitment:
Jayden Wayne Jayden Wayne 6'5" | 240 lbs | DL Lincoln | 2023 FL , DE, 6’5″ 240lbs, Lincoln HS ’23
I don’t think Wayne has seen a cold spell in his recruitment, as he continues to stay hot. With around 25 offers total, the 5 star DE recently picked up offers from Georgia, Michigan, Texas, Miami, Alabama, Utah, and Penn State. He sizes up with a tremendous frame and possesses excellent quickness and instincts. Great initial ball get off and frequently wins off the snap. Wayne does a great job shedding and disengaging from blocks and is a very talented player. He’s a special type of player as he will only continue to get better and holds a high ceiling.
After a GREAT conversation with @CoachDanLanning @coach_thartley I'm Thankful to get an offer from THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA @GeorgiaFootball #GoDawgs🐾 pic.twitter.com/sUiFcehIMn

Jasiah Wagoner Jasiah Wagoner 5'11" | 170 lbs | DB Spanaway Lake | 2023 State WA , ATH, 6’0″ 170lbs, Spanaway Lake HS ’23
Wagoner recently landed 3 offers from Cal, Arizona State, and Tennessee, and projects to reel in more very soon. He holds 9 offers total which also include Colorado, Oregon, Washington, Washington State, Penn State, and UNLV. Wagoner is an identified threat on both sides of the ball. He holds big play ability with the ball in his hands and can be a lethal WR. As a DB, he closes well as a tackler with a good striking ability. Excellent instincts all around and breaks on the ball well, showcasing legit ball hawk ability. Expect wagoner to really open the flood gates soon.
Jonathan Landry Jonathan Landry 5'11" | 170 lbs | DB Evergreen | 2023 State WA , DB/WR, 5’11″ 170lbs, Evergreen HS ’23
Landry recently picked up an ACC and his first power 5 offer from Virginia, which was his first offer since August of 2020 where he landed offers from Utah State and Florida Atlantic. He’s patient at CB and isn’t overly aggressive or lunging at opponents. He shows good closing speed as a tackler with a solid break on the ball and good ball skills all around. Explosive athlete with solid top end speed and is a fluid route runner on the offensive side of the ball. He projects to have a huge junior campaign and see those offers keep coming in.
Thanks to God i’m blessed to have received an ACC offer from The University of Virginia @BrandonHuffman @SwainChristian5 @RegJones20 @NickHowellUVA @Coach_Popp pic.twitter.com/HWPfRNJgjh

Dorian Thomas Dorian Thomas 6'5" | 220 lbs | TE Kentridge | 2023 State WA , TE, 6’5″ 215lbs, Kentridge HS ’23
Thomas recently started his recruitment by picking up his first offer from Nevada, then quickly following up with an offer from Florida Atlantic. He sizes up with a tremendous frame and build and is a playmaker at the TE spot. Kentridge loves to get him the ball on screens as he’s proved to be a big play threat. He runs good routes and brings solid physicality after the catch, and will only continue to mature and develop. He’s powerful blocker in the run game and a big contributor on the defensive side of the ball as well.
Kyle Chen, DB, 6’1″ 190lbs, Mountain View HS ’23
Chen starts his recruitment by bringing in his first offer from Penn State on May 6th. He started developing well throughout the season and projects to be a lockdown DB his junior year. He shows solid range and can turn and run with receivers, and flashed good range all around with the ability to hawk down breakaway ball carriers on the opposite sideline at CB.
Gabe Tahir, WR/DB, 6’2″ 175lbs, Kamiakin HS ’23
Tahir also starts up his recruitment and is yet another Washington prospect picking up a Penn State offer. Tahir has good length on him and does a good job shedding blocks to provide run support. He does a great job in man coverage and flashed solid hand placement to force PBU’s. All signs point to Tahir emerging as a lockdown CB the next two seasons.
