The top players in Region 3 are just a few players to watch in Class 2A in 2021.
AJ Smith | 5-10 RB, MLB | Thorsby HS
Smith is a terrific player that has quick feet and a good boost of power when it comes to his running game. In the backfield, he has great field vision and makes quick cuts and jukes to get past defenders and gain extra yards for his offense.
At middle linebacker, Smith is a sensational force that can jump the snap and get into the backfield or assist in tackles anywhere on the field.
Keeshaun Glanton | 5-11 RB, MLB | Luverne HS
Glanton could be the top rusher for Luverne in 2021. Entering his senior year, Glanton possesses the right attributes to be a successful running back in Class 2A. He isn’t the flashiest of runners, but he has great speed and can power his way past a defender to gain an extra yard or two on any given run.
Ray Boston | 6-4 WR, CB | Isabella HS
Boston is a standout receiver that can catch a slant pass or screen pass and take it to the endzone.
Off the line of scrimmage, he gets great separation from his defender and creates enough space to get up to speed and make a big play. At cornerback, he possesses great skills to make tackles in the open field and defends passes well.
Tay Hall | 5-10 QB, OLB | Highland Home
Hall could work his way to being the best quarterback in Region 3 this season. He has a strong arm and can throw well when under pressure.
In the pocket, Hall can avoid a sack and use his legs to get out of being taken down, but can also launch a pass on the run. He releases the ball at the perfect time and rarely commits a turnover.
Cade Tidwell | 6-2 T, DE | Highland Home
Tidwell has great size and can play on both the offensive and defensive line.
At defensive end, he has great hands and can move past the blocker to get pressure into the backfield or get a quick tackle.
John Garmon | 6-0 QB | Luverne HS
Garmon enters his senior year in 2021 with something to prove. He has the chance to compete as the top quarterback in the region.
The incoming senior is quick to avoid pressure and can hit his receivers in stride on any play. He can also use his legs to get out of the pocket and pick up crucial yards.
Braxden Giles | 6-0 WR, CB | Isabella HS
Giles is a top notch receiver that can catch any pass thrown his way. He runs smooth routes and can get separation from his defender in stride to haul in a catch. Giles is a dangerous deep threat due to his quick speed. He can beat defenders off the line of scrimmage and be gone in a flash heading towards the endzone.
