Here are some of our quick standouts and observations on Day 1 from the 15U teams:
NOTE: Prospects played both offense and defense during the tournament so the analysis may not reflect the position listed.
Jalen Barry, 2024 QB – Stratford
Barry showed off his arm well on Day 1 of the tournament as he stepped into his throws and led his receivers to making the catch. We saw an example of that where he connected on what appeared to be a skinny post for a touchdown and the receiver ran underneath it and caught it in stride. The ball placement was impressive to where the defensive back did not have a chance to make a play on it.
Additional observations
- Troy Reid, 2024 WR – Berkeley (Twitter: @reid_troy) – Reid lined up at defensive back and went and high pointed the ball like he was at receiver to make an interception to end one series (however, it could have possibly been a touchdown because he had such good hands catching it.)
- DJ Salley, 2024 WR — Ashley Ridge (Twitter: @derricksalley11) – Salley made an impressive catch at the back left corner of the end zone where he did a good job of high pointing the ball using his hands and showed good concentration as well.
