Arguably one of the most important positions in sports, these young men are doing their part in helping their team win football games. There have been many strong QB performances this spring and their ability to stand out has been extremely tough but impressive.
Collin Reetz Jr. QB
Collin lead his team to the 2A State Semifinals this year. As the signal caller for the Bobcats he has made a huge impact on the team and their successes this season. He is only a Junior and will be one of the top QB’s in all of Colorado high school football going into next fall. This year as a Junior Collin completed 177 of 310 passing attempts accounting for 2,332 yards through the air. He managed to complete 57% of his passes showing he is very accurate. He’s averaging 333 yards per game and has totaled 22 passing touchdowns. In eight games that is a extremely high mark and he leads 2A in pretty much every passing category. He has turned the ball over 15 times through the air and with one more season of learning expect him to make a huge impact in all of Colorado high school football next year.
Jacob Dube Sr. QB
Jacob is the Senior gunslinger for the undefeated Flatirons Academy Bison. Jacob will take on Manitou Springs in the State Championship game this month. He has not thrown the ball quite as much as Collin, but when he does, he is super efficient. The Senior leader has completed 60% of his passes going 42 for 70. The completion percentage is very impressive, but not even the best thing about his season so far. He has thrown for 795 yards averaging just under 160 a game. The most impressive thing about Jacob’s game is his ability to take care of the football. In just five games he has thrown for 15 touchdowns and just 3 interceptions. His ability to take care of the football in the passing game has been a huge reason for his team’s success this year. Jacob will look to do the same for the Bison in this years State Championship Game.
Haden Camp Haden Camp 6'1" | QB Buena Vista | 2023 State CO So. QB
This Sophomore quarterback has got the fans excited in Buena Vista. As a young QB Haden was able to lead his team to an undefeated regular season and a trip to the State Semifinals before their season was ended in nail biting fashion to Manitou Springs. Haden threw the ball very well this season completing 36 of his 62 passing attempts. He completed 58% of his passes and averaged 113 yards per game through the air. The best and most impressive was his ability to take care of the ball at such a young age. His maturity and ability to succeed at the position clearly showed as he threw 11 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions this season. His ability to lead his team shows some very positive signs moving forward for the Demons. Expect Haden to continue to grow as a QB and become a name that is tearing up high school football for the next couple of seasons.
