Continue ReadingOregon has seen some commitments come in recently, with 4 of them being from the 2021 class. COVID has caused a ton of chaos in terms of recruiting, but it is excellent to see these kids get the shot they deserve. PAC 12 programs have taken notice of these talented athletes from Oregon recently, as well as the in-state D3 program Linfield University. Here’s a look at some of the most recent notable commitments in the state of Oregon:
Blake DeBisschop Blake DeBisschop 6'3" | 175 lbs | QB West Linn | 2021 State OR , QB, West Linn ’21- University of California
Debisschop has been one of the most intriguing prospects to follow. He was a clear FBS level talent, but took a while to really see that attention. Thankfully, Cal was able to recognize this big time gunslinger and Debisschop will head to the PAC 12 where I believe he can find success. He sizes up with a slender frame at 6’4″ 185lbs with room to put on weight. He has an excellent demeanor in the pocket and shows good anticipation for routes and concepts to develop. He shows a fluid release with the ability to fit throws in with velocity or touch. Strong arm kid that is getting the shot he deserves.
Jahleel Heath Jahleel Heath 6'3" | 200 lbs | LB Oregon City | 2021 State OR , TE/LB, Oregon City ’21– University of Washington
Heath announced his commitment to Washington on a PWO. He is listed as a TE/LB, but was an all out iron man for Oregon City. He’s lined up at DE, LB, TE, Slot, and WR where they liked to isolate him on a single receiver side. He sizes up with a tremendous frame at 6’3″ 200lbs and brings solid functional strength to the field. He’s a clean route runner especially for his build, and does a great job securing the catch while anticipating contact. He’ll win those contested catches as he has the frame to naturally box out opponents. On defense, he takes good pursuit tracks toward the ball carrier and is strong at the POA. He chooses a PWO to Washington over offers from the College of Idaho, Southern Oregon, and Western Oregon.
Cole Prusia Cole Prusia 6'3" | 190 lbs | DB Tualatin | 2022 State OR , WR, Tualatin ’22– Oregon State University
The Junior WR was explosive in the 6 game season for Tualatin. He has a good athletic frame and build at 6’3″ 200lbs, and shows loose hips and a solid initial burst off the LOS. He’s explosive out of his stick which frequently generates clear separation. He shows excellent route integrity to not let contact bump him off his route, or immediately get back on his route if contact is initiated. He tracks the ball well and catches it away from his body. He does a great job pressing vertical hard and runs up the DB’s toes before breaking into his route. He possesses solid speed all around and poses as a big play threat, and has to be identified pre-snap before every play. Excited to see the damage he does next year as a senior.
Will French, TE/LB, Valley Catholic ’21– Linfield University
French will suit up and play D3 ball for Linfield where he’ll have an opportunity to make a big impact. He sizes up with an excellent build at 6’3″ 220lbs and he will only continue to develop at the next level. He is powerful at the point of contact both as a blocker in the run game and on defense as a tackler. He’ll catch the ball in traffic and doesn’t seem to get rattled when he takes hits. French shows a solid pursuit track toward ball carriers to make plays. He chooses Linfield over offers from Lewis & Clark, University of British Columbia, Ithaca College, and Valparaiso.
Blake Eaton, QB, Crater- Linfield University
Linfield adds an in-state QB with Eaton, and he will be a great fit in the Linfield offense. He’s a tough kid at 6’2″ 175lbs, as he hangs in the pocket well and does not get rattled by pressure. He took some big hits after release but was still able to get the ball out on time and on target. He has solid arm strength and can stretch the field with the deep ball well. He’s shown the ability to use touch to consistently give his receivers a shot to track it down. Eaton has displayed solid placement on short and intermediate throws with the ability to use velocity as well.
I have decided to commit to Linfield University to continue my schooling and football career. I want to thank everyone that has helped me on this journey by making me a better person, football player, and student. @coachbelliott @Coach_Wikre @CoachSmithCats @coachboehme pic.twitter.com/imLHHxWUuo
