Committed: Frostburg State
Scout’s Take: An outside WR that brings physicality to the WR room. Shows a good ability to track the ball in the air, and use his body to make contested catches. Reliable pass-catcher. Has good focus when making catches in crowded areas of the field. Good strength to fight through contact, and powers through the first tackler. Wilson Jr could see himself become a major contributor in the next couple of years with his reliability and contested catch ability.
Anthony Bell, Wicomico, DB, 2021
Committed: Lycoming College
Scout’s Take: Played as the single-high safety for Wicomico. Does a good job of reading the QB’s eyes and reacting. Shows good range with vs the run and the pass. This allows him to get to the sidelines on wider run plays and make the tackle. He is a sure-tackler from the safety position and not afraid of taking on running backs one-on-one. His ability to play both the run and the pass from the single-high position gives him a great chance to have an excellent college career.
Aschton Shiles, Wicomico, 6’4″ 245lbs, 2021
Committed: Alderson Broadus
Scout’s Take: A big-body lineman that played both ways for Wicomico. His size allowed him to swallow up potential blockers on defense, and rushers on offense. He does a good job of setting the edge vs the run with his length to keep blockers off him. He also has enough speed to get outside and meet the runner on extended plays. A run-stuffing DL that should develop well with college coaching.
Connor Maloney Connor Maloney 6'1" | 215 lbs | LB Palotti | 2021 MD , St. Vincent Pallotti, OLB, 6’2″ 214lbs, 2021
Committed: Towson
Scout’s Take: Spent the majority of his snaps at OLB for St. Vincent Pallotti. He has very good speed off of the edge. He reads the play well and does a good job of getting to the ball carrier through traffic. As an ILB, his speed stands out when needing to get to the sidelines. Truly an effort guy, which shows when his first move is stopped and he needs to go to his second option. Maloney’s speed and effort give him a great chance to excel at the college level.
Owen Vandergriff, St. Mary’s Ryken, DE/OLB/TE, 6’3″ 215lbs, 2021
Committed: Bridgewater
Scout’s Take: Played mostly DE for St. Mary’s Ryken. He gets a great jump off the ball which allows him to attack the blockers quicker. Plays with great leverage through the entirety of the play. He possesses a good base of pass rush moves to take into the next level. As a backside defender, he does a good job of working his responsibility, whether crashing down the line or staying home. His understanding of fundamentals and his pass-rushing ability will be two reasons why he is a name to watch at the college level.
