Teams in their region include that of North, South, and West Forsyth, as well as Gainseville, Lamert, and Forsyth Central. Last season, they finished with a 6-5 record, but managed to make it all the way to the 2nd round of the playoffs. Here, they lost to Collins Hill, which ended up being one of the top teams in the state last season. As we approach the 2021 season, we fully expect the Danes to step up to the plate, and to continue to be one of the best teams in their region. Below, you will see a few of their top players who will certainly help them do so. Feel free to give them a look.
Dee Crayton Dee Crayton 6'2" | 210 lbs | LB Denmark | 2023 State GA – LB
As of last month, Crayton has already recorded 6 Power 5 offers. Not only does he have the size, length, and frame to play at the next level, but he already plays like a college backer. He not only plays the run well, but he can also play consistently in coverage due to his speed and athleticism. This is proven by the fact that he is able to turn and run well, and control his body when the ball is in the air. Essentially, he does a good job of not getting lost in space. With this, he also proves to be able to get around the field well, and move with fluidity, which helps him to make tackles at various levels of the field. He is good in pursuit, and he also lays the hammer on some of his tackles at, or behind the line of scrimmage. Crayton plays with good burst, and an aggressive attitude as well, which is certainly what makes him great. He delivers a pop on contact, and the way he wraps up and takes great angles helps as well. in 2021, he will continue to be a star for the Danes.
Kenon Dicks- CB
Even though Dicks is a bit of a smaller DB, he does a good job of not getting overpowered, and he shows that he can stop ball carriers from making it past him as well. He has a nose for tackles, and takes good angles when bringing ball carriers to the ground. In coverage, Dicks is a bit raw, but his ball skills, and understanding of the game at hand helps him a great deal. While his feet can be raw at times, we like the way he can flip his hips and change direction. Dicks does a decent job of using his hands as well, and is okay at shadowing movement. In 2021, we want to see him develop in his use of different technique, as well as the way he gets out of his breaks in zone coverage.
Anias Blackman- RB
In his second season playing for Denmark, Blackman has already seen time on the field, and his ability to tote the football and gain the tough yards on the ground, and play as a return man has benefited the Danes already. He is a bit smaller due to his age, but his quick burst, and slashing running style makes him hard to run head up on, and to bring down on initial contact. Blackman may be a bit raw, but the way he can change direction and stick his foot in the ground is pretty impressive. This helps him to turn the corner, and to burst up the field quickly with his short area quickness. Overall, Blackman has a ton to work on. This includes how he reacts at the line of scrimmage with the ball in his hands, as well as the pad level he runs at from time to time. His raw footwork can slow him down a bit at times, but is not overwhelmingly harmful. Next season, we think Blackman will be much more polished, and will have a great year on the ground for the Danes.
