The Panthers averaged just below 29 points per game and scored 40 in the season opener and finale.
Harrison dominated on the ground and maintained a respectable pass game against the opposition. The only team the Panthers did not eclipse 100 yards on the ground against was Sierra. However, the contest ended at halftime due to injuries on the Stallions’ end.
Aside from that, their “worst” output was 127 yards against Aurora Central, a game they won 33-3. For the season, the Panthers tallied 1,251 yards on the ground and 15 touchdowns.
With the aerial game, Harrison managed 604 yards in six games and totaled 10 TD receptions.
Here are five players who supercharged the Panthers’ high octane offense.
Kahli Dotison
Few teams had an answer for the dual-threat senior as he shredded opposing defenses any time he touched the ball.
Dotison led the team in all-purpose yards for the regular season with 783 including 362 rushing yards.
Dotison made the most of his 10 receptio ns with 251 yards – including a season-best of 149 yards against Aurora Central and an 88-yard TD reception – and a team-best four receiving touchdowns.
The nickel-slick senior averaged 50.2 receiving yards per game and 72.4 on the ground this season.
He played his best game of the year in the finale against Falcon. Dotison finished the contest with 140 rushing yards and a touchdown in the 40-32 victory against the Falcons.
Kahar Briggs
The kid with dynamite for legs left defenses perplexed all season with his speed and elusive qualities.
Briggs was one of three Panthers to run for more than 300 yards. Briggs’ 308 yards were third on the team.
The junior averaged 61.6 rushing yards per game and 9.9 per carry. In his four games, he broke at least a 22-yard run in each including a 33-yarder in the second quarter against Falcon.
His burst set up teammate Kahli Dotison to punch in a 7-yard score that gave Harrison a 13-12 lead in the frame.
While Briggs didn’t get a score on the ground, he finished with three receiving touchdowns on just five receptions and capped the year with 170 reception yards.
He gained a bulk of those yards against Aurora Central when he made the most of his lone reception for the game. The catch went for 66 yards and a score on April 1 along with his 41 rushing yards.
Davonn Stevens Davonn Stevens 6'1" | LB Harrison | 2021 State CO
Whether on defense or offense, Stevens proves to be a force for the Panthers.
Stevens posted magnificent numbers for the Panthers on the defensive side of the rock and bulldozed his way through the opposition on offense.
The senior scored a team-high nine rushing touchdowns and finished the year with 374 yards on the ground, which was also a team-best.
Stevens scored in all five of Harrison’s contests and posted his strongest numbers in a 34-18 victory over Gateway.
Stevens had 19 carries for 157 yards and a touchdown against the Olympians.
Jaseim Mitchell Jaseim Mitchell 6'3" | QB Harrison | 2021 State CO
The senior quarterback had an array of weapons in his arsenal but was also a lethal threat himself.
Mitchell closed the year 27-of-59 passing for 592 yards with nine touchdowns to five interceptions. He averaged 118.4 yards per game through the air and averaged a shade under 22 yards per attempt.
On the ground, Mitchell scored three touchdowns and finished the year with 125 rushing yards on 19 carries along a season-best 41-yard scamper against Denver North, where two of his runs went for TDs.
Outside of a tough outing against Falcon in the season finale, Mitchell proved to be formidable with his field vision and had just two interceptions.
Against Aurora Central in the Panthers’ first road game of the season, Mitchell showed out with 235 passing yards and three touchdowns on 4-of-11 passing.
Jordan Southerland
Southerland scored a pair of touchdowns for the Panthers this season but none more important than his one against Falcon.
