The 6-foot-1 200-pounder played at Brookwood last season, will play at North Cobb as a senior this fall, and has announced that in college he’ll play at the University of Georgia. The playmaking wideout chose the Bulldogs over Schools like Alabama, Clemson, Auburn, Arkansas, among others.
As a player, Morrissette is as good a route-runner as you’ll find for his size. He’s heavier than most receivers in the state and can be tough to bring down by just one defender. What makes him stand out among others is the speed that he has for someone 200-pounds. The former Bronco was outstanding as a junior last year, catching 63 passes for 824 yards and 8 touchdowns. He was the team’s leading receiver, and now he’ll be catching passes from 2023 QB Malachi Singleton Malachi Singleton 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB North Cobb | 2023 State GA at North Cobb.
Overall, Morrissette carries his weight very well, he’s a fluid runner, and he has great hands. He’s explosive and has shown he can make plays deep down the field while also making an impact in the screen game. Not only does he run well for his size, but he shows great footwork and the ability to quickly get in and out of his breaks. He does a great job of getting yards after the catch and always finds a way to fall forward for a final yard or two. He adjusts his body well in the air and does a nice job of coming down with tough catches in traffic. He went up against impressive defensive backs all season and still found a way to make a big impact each week.
He’s already a polished receiver, but he’s continued to get better and better this off-season through the 7-on-7 circuit. He’s a big playmaker for the impressive Hustle Inc. squad that features more of the state’s top prospects including QB Gunner Stockton Gunner Stockton 6'1" | 220 lbs | QB Rabun County | 2022 State GA , WR Kojo Antwi Kojo Antwi 6'1" | 190 lbs | WR Lambert | 2022 State GA , TE Oscar Delp Oscar Delp 6'5" | 220 lbs | TE West Forsyth | 2022 State GA , and many more.
Morrissette has been a highly thought-of player since his middle school days, and although he’s bounced around multiple times in high school, he’s been able to prove why he’s one of the best in the South. He made his mark early in the 2020 season when he had a breakout game in the season opener against Dacula, catching 12 passes for over 200 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winner.
He can get tough short yards, he can create separation, he’s got enough speed to get behind defenders, and he knows how to help in the screen game. He’s also a willing blocker on the edge in the run game. There’s a reason he’s recognized as one of the best in Georgia, and one of the best in the South for the 2022 class. His size, speed, and impressive route-running should give him an opportunity to see the field early in Athens down the road.
