Tampa Freedom Football 2021

Nobody has to remind Tampa Freedom head football coach Chris Short that his team didn’t win a game in the pandemic-plagued season.

Instead of dwelling on the negatives, this off-season has been all about hard work and dedication to turning things around.

While the wins didn’t come this past season, what did show up was valuable playing experience. In losses to Strawberry Crest (36-33) and Deltona (16-13) in the playoffs, the final two games of the season, several Class of 2022 players stepped up for the Patriots.

In fact, this rising senior class will certainly be the place where this program will lean on during the spring and into the summer.

Among those rising seniors who are expected to give the Patriots a lift include Deantoun Bender (WR/LB, 5-10, 160 – 3.6 GPA), Angel Chacon (WR/DB, 5-9, 150 – 2.6 GPA), Octavius Day Jr (WR/DB, 5-6, 140 – 3.0 GPA), Alexander De La Cruz (QB, 5-7, 145) and versatile Kenny Gallmon (WR/LB, 5-11, 185 – 3.1 GPA).

Also, keep your eye on Aly Gomaa (OL/DL, 5-6, 155 – 3.1 GPA), Jessica Magloire (PK – 3.4 GPA), Kyler Jackson-Rao (OL/DL, 6-1, 195 – 3.8 GPA) and gifted running back/linebacker Aveione Tisdale
