Adams is the top guy in the 2024 class after their freshman season for good reason, as a part of turning around Green Run, Adams showed that he has all the skills to be a Power Five receiver. Adams has speed, hands, and can run routes with the best of them. It was hard to choose between Adams and Asaad Brown, but I give the nod to Adams due to the competition both faced as freshmen.
Adams has a litany of offers from Ole Miss, Louisiana-Monroe, Florida State, Maryland, Pitt, Old Dominion, UVA, Virginia Tech, and UNC, which offered him before Adams even hit a high school field after a great showing at the G.A.M.E Academy camp last summer in Virginia Beach
2 Assad Brown, DB, Oscar Smith
Brown, who started at Portsmouth Christian in the fall, announced he would transfer to Oscar Smith and that will do wonders for his recruiting as the competition level is vastly different and the improved competition will give Brown a chance to showcase what he can do with some of the best athletes in the area.
While Brown’s main role is at DB, he is equally as talented as a wide receiver with some good hands and really good route running.
Brown piled up a list of offers in his freshman season from West Virginia, Jackson State, Charlotte, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Marshall, Louisiana-Monroe, Nebraska, Maryland, Michigan, South Carolina, UNC, Pitt, Old Dominion, Penn State, Texas A&M, Tennessee, UVA, Virginia Tech, and Ole Miss
3 Da’Vontae Floyd, WR Maury
Floyd was a two-way star for the defending class five champs Maury as he put in work at WR, and at corner for the Commodores. Over the course of the season, Floyd continued to get better. Leading up to their state semifinal loss, Floyd had caught two scores and broke up seven passes, forced two fumbles, and blocked two field goals.
Floyd looks destined to be a power five recruit and already has offers from South Carolina, Maryland, Liberty, Virginia Tech, UVA, ODU, and Pitt
4. Chanz Wiggins, WR, King George
I was first put onto Wiggins at a camp last year when on the roster prior to the camp beginning, I saw his class and size and had to see his skills, and when I saw them, I instantly knew he was going to be one of the top recruits in his class. Wiggins proved that during the season at King George and the Foxes advanced deeper into the playoffs than they had in quite a long time.
Now, coming into his sophomore year, Wiggins will have more put on him and it will increase his spotlight. Wiggins is 6’3″ and had great hands for a receiver as young as he is.
Wiggins has already received offers from UVA, Penn State, Pitt, and Maryland.
5. Ethan Minter, QB, Thomas Dale
Minter led Thomas Dale to the regional playoffs as a freshman before being ousted by eventual state champs Oscar Smith but gained some great experience as a freshman, something sometimes hard to get as a QB. Minter has the athleticism to get out of trouble and can find open receivers while not he run, something that will make him stand out in the future.
Minter has offers from UVA, and Maryland so far.
