Many of these players are making a name for themselves this offseason while some are already house hold names with the offers they are receiving. This class has an abundance of big men who have and will be drawing much more attention due to their outstanding play on the field. Harris Sewell Harris Sewell 6'4" | 290 lbs | OL Permian | 2023 State TX – Permian
Sewell is the player who you want or your team blocking for you. He is a monster off of the snap. Sewell explodes off of the ball with bad intentions. He plays a physical game and will have opponents on their backsides in a hurry. Sewell has very quick feet and gets to his points with purpose. When engaged, Sewell has his way with defenders. He tosses players aside like rag dolls and continues trucking to the next level. His run blocking is phenomenal, clearing the path for his ball carriers and he is a solid wall in pass protection. Sewell shows so much strength and power in his blocks and because of that, he currently holds seventeen offers with more coming in. His name has picked up much traction since February and it does not look as it will slow down. Sewell is a top notch player in Texas and he will be a the top of many lists going into his junior year.
Benjamin Hartman Benjamin Hartman 6'4" | 295 lbs | OL Lake Travis | 2023 State TX – Lake Travis
Hartman is a massive player at 6’5, almost 300 pounds who does an excellent job of controlling the line of scrimmage. He is aggressive and dictates where the player across from him goes. When engaged, Hartman is a beast. Defenders have little chance of escaping his clutches and will most likely end up as a pancake. Hartman has solid feet and moves well on zone blocks and pulls. He is very good at working his way up to the second level and creating running lanes for his backs. Hartman is devastating on combo blocks and loves to show off the power. In the passing game, Hartman does everything needed at the guard position to keep his quarterback clean. He has a good kickback and does not overreach, keeping the defender in front of him at all times. Hartman is another dominate lineman who makes his team better. He will soon get the attention he deserves and expect him to have an outstanding junior season.
Justin DeLeon Justin DeLeon 6'4" | 280 lbs | OL HM KIng | 2023 State TX – HM King
I cannot say enough positive things about DeLeon. He is just a true force as an offensive tackle and runs through anything in his sights. DeLeon has a bull mentality on the field and lives for pancake blocks. He is a tackle with an excellent frame and long arms. He shows good athletic abilities and has great quickness off of the snap. On film, DeLeon is usually the one taking a defender 10 to 15 yards down the field on blocks and finishing off the play. His physicality cannot be ignored and his ability to drive opponents out of the play is a sight to see. DeLeon has great hip drive and strength which he shows in his game. His pass protection is also very good, using his long arms to keep rushers away and showing the quickness to get out of his stance. DeLeon should be on many programs radar in the near future due to his talent. Keep an eye out for him.
John Taplett John Taplett 6'4" | 260 lbs | OL Southwest Christian | 2023 State TX – Southwest Christian
Taplett is a very talented lineman who moves incredibly well in space. At 6’4, 260, he moves which much agility and quickness in order to reach his spots, you’d think he was a track star. Taplett is another tackle with great reach who uses it to his advantage very well. He is a devastating cut blocker, doing so with tremendous quickness. If not contested, Taplett will make his way to the secondary and feast on defensive backs, driving them into the ground. He has great drive and power in his blocks and great awareness of his surroundings. Taplett will be a name to watch out for as well. He will very soon get attention from his play and next season, expect him to dominate even more.
Isaiah Kema Isaiah Kema 6'4" | 275 lbs | OL Frenship | 2023 State TX – Frenship
Kema is a vicious blocker, especially as the pulling guard, always looking to earhole somebody. Kema has great size as a guard and has good length. He delivers the blows and goes until the whistle is blown. Kema shows good footwork, changes direction with ease, and recovers very well. He may over run a target but has the ability to redirect in a snap, and deliver an impact block opening the lane for his runners. In the passing game Kema is strong with a solid base. He initiates the contact, knocking rushers back and finishing them off by pancaking them. Kema has a very good game to him and is a talented lieman. He currently holds seven offers and will have more coming his way.
