The Macomb Area Conference, or MAC, has produced lots of talent over the years. It’s a competitive league that requires intensity and focus for the entire game and season in order to win a championship. For 2021, the narrative won’t change and there will be a lot at stake for every team in the conference.
The MAC should have a lot of talented potential college football recruits on their rosters headlined by Grosse Pointe South cornerback and Michigan commit Will Johnson. Johnson is one of the most highly rated prospects to come out of Michigan and it's only right that he stays in state for college.
Here are 6 of the top players in the MAC for the 2021 season:

Grosse Pointe South is sure to be a top team in the MAC next season and Will Johnson will be a big part of it. Johnson is one of the top players in the nation and is sure to cause a buzz next season. He recently committed to Michigan as a cornerback after having played both cornerback and wide receiver in high school. He’s lengthy and has some physicality to his game that Michigan will covet in their man-to-man system.

The Michigan commit is a weapon that folks in Ann Arbor can be excited about getting their hands on. He’s a quick player who uses his size to physically drive cornerbacks up the field. Trent takes big strides down the field which is a disadvantage for smaller cornerbacks defending him.

[player_tooltip player_id="30150" first="Jordan" last="Ramsey"]
Stevenson has a big time player in Ramsey to help them win next season. The all purpose back can catch the ball out of the backfield and get hard earned yards on the ground. Although he’s only 5’9, Ramsey plays bigger than he is and has a lot of tenacity to his game. He can find a hole when everything breaks down and has quick feet that benefits his lateral movement. Ramsey currently has offers from some MAC schools as well as Cincinnati.

Michigan has its fair share of lengthy corners in the class of 2022 and that includes Lakeview standout [player_tooltip player_id="30151" first="Jaris" last="McIntosh"]. He’s noticeably good at tracking the ball in the air and can mirror even the fastest receiver on the field. If he continues to develop this season, he could see the added attention of some bigger schools on his radar. His length stands out on tape and not just on paper and college coaches will notice that.

[player_tooltip player_id="30168" first="Omari" last="Embree"]
The Warren Woods Tower running back has some attention from Central Michigan on the recruiting trail but no firm offers yet. Embree is a fast running back who can accelerate through tackles rather than break them. He can be used in a number of ways on the offensive side of the ball, but also provides some elite punt return ability. Just get this kid the football and he can do the rest.

[player_tooltip player_id="30179" first="Cooper" last="Phillips"]
Phillips is attracting some colleges attention and is expected to have a big breakout season in 2021 to get even more. He has the size and technique to translate to the next level at a Division One program. He's willing to get nasty and has a powerful punch that can throw defensive ends off balance. Phillips also has the weight and strength to move inside if necessary. An intriguing recruit that coaches should be watching as we enter the 2021 season.
