Offensive Spotlight
Jake Schakel Jake Schakel 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Emerald Ridge | 2024 State WA , QB, 6’1″ 185lbs, Emerald Ridge HS ’24
Film: https://www.hudl.com/profile/14475660/Jake-Schakel
This is one freshman gunslinger you’re going to want to keep an eye on for a while. He size up with a good athletic frame for a ’24 kid, and has room to put on size/weight in the upcoming years. He shows smooth footwork in the pocket and stands tall with solid poise. He hit throws with timing and placement, which I believe is his best trait at his age. You tend to see a lot of young QB’s behind in timing, but Schakel seems to process the game so much faster than other QB’s his age. He throws well under pressure as he’s taken some solid hits after release and is still on target. He showed some anticipation a little bit, which will only get better in the upcoming years. He did a really good job extending plays and showed the ability to deliver accurate throws on the run in both directions. He attended numerous camps and 7v7 events in the summer and fall, and definitely brought everything he learned through those to the field during the spring season. He holds a 4.0 GPA and should be a 2024 QB to know about.
Excited to get on the field with some of the best in the PNW!🙏💯 @BrandonHuffman @JagNationFB @RylandSpencer @Storm7on7 @TaylorBarton12 pic.twitter.com/usX2gx4THn

Defensive Spotlight
Tom Nash, DE, 6’6″ 250lbs, Bellevue HS ’22
Film: https://www.hudl.com/profile/12167178/Tom-Nash
Nash is a big body kid that sizes up with a tremendous frame and excellent length. Bellevue had a short 4 game COVID season, but Nash did everything he could during his short junior campaign as he still was able to record 5 sacks. He displays excellent functional strength and drive as he frequently overpowers opponents. His bull-rush is very difficult to stop given his length and strength. He’s flashed violent hands to maneuver around opponents to make himself a menace in the backfield. He displayed a solid leaping ability as he frequently jumps up and deflects passes at the LOS. His best play is his first play on his tape, where he deflects a pass to himself, and takes it to the house for a pick six. Nash is a very athletic kid and has shown potential to be versatile along the defensive line. He is also a standout basketball player at Bellevue and holds big potential to breakout next year if they end up having a full season.
