Just about all of these young men have been labeled in my eyes as having a good chance to be a good small school prospect for some college program here soon, and one we would love to see him flip from baseball to football at the next level! Enjoy.
Austin Henry Austin Henry 6'5" | 190 lbs | QB Dell Rapids | 2022 State , Quarterback, Dell Rapids (SD) | Twitter
Austin was one that was on our original rankings when we launched the site last October but was pulled off due to being a baseball prospect. However, when I reevaluated his tape, I just couldn’t stop watching how excellent his touch was on the football, so I caved in and put him back on our Class of 2022 rankings if he ever changes his mind over to football in his senior season. Henry has durable size at 6’5 205 pounds and has a cannon for an arm with solid placement as well. The biggest development to Austin’s game is setting his feet more often to get some balance on some of his throws. He has as much arm strength and accuracy as some of our top 2022 QBs, but his rank stays in the mid-50s.
Wyatt Miller Wyatt Miller RB Kidder County | 2022 State , Running Back, Kidder County (ND)
Wyatt is not the biggest tailback you will ever see out of Kidder County (ND), but he certainly has an explosive motor. Whether he is creating space from the defenders with his burst or his twitch in his footwork, he’s a prospect that can make plays. What I love most about his film is how explosive his jump is when taking an outside pitch, as it sets the tone really nicely when he sees the run develop. I certainly see Wyatt as a stockriser as we enter the 2021 season and could be an appealing small school prospect.
Ryan Jochim Ryan Jochim LB Herreid-Selby | 2022 State , Nose Guard, Herreid-Selby (SD) | Twitter
I have seen a few clips of Ryan this offseason, and I think this young man will be even more of a force for the Wolverines this season. He’s not the biggest on paper at nose guard (5’10, 210) but can pack a punch; as most of the plays on the film I have watched, he gets enough momentum to drive the ball carrier back a few more years than they probably expected just due to his solid contact level. I had Ryan ranked just outside of the top 150 in the Dakotas but is working his tail off this offseason in the weight room, so expect him to be higher as we enter the Fall.
Kadin Nelson Kadin Nelson 6'4" | 200 lbs | WR RC Stevens | 2022 State , Wide Receiver, Rapid City Stevens (SD) | Twitter
Kadin was a prospect I was introduced to when I made my prospect list on Rapid City Stevens back in April. Kadin has a good mix in his route running that can play in motion and on his longer routes, shows solid balance, and can tap on the gas when he sees the secondary ease up on his route. Additionally, for a prospect with his size (6’4), he shows that sound body control on many of his film reps near the sideline, which to me sells me that Kadin is a scholarship-level prospect. He just needs to add more speed to his resume this summer to improve his stock in our 2022 rankings as he checks in just outside the top 100.
Jayton Slater Jayton Slater 6'2" | 285 lbs | DL St John | 2022 State , Defensive Line, St. John (ND)
I watched Jayton’s tape and saw a kid that is an efficient run-stuffer when he gets his hands on someone. His blocking level is a little higher than I would like to see, but that is something he can develop this offseason and this season. He gets physical contact and has a good drive in his feet to make sure that ball carrier does not proceed past him on that first level. He is a prospect that outmans most linemen he goes up against the St. John Woodchucks due to his 6’2, 265-pound frame. Congratulations to Jayton on being the first St. John Woodchucks to ever appear on our prospect rankings here at Prep Redzone Dakotas.
Frosty Wisnewski Frosty Wisnewski WR Central Cass | 2022 State , Wide Receiver, Central Cass (ND) | Twitter
Frosty had a film that took some time to develop, but I came away impressed once I got locked in. What made his film solid was his footwork. He brought in some tough passes from his QB and made the smart plays with good extension when the throw was slightly offline. I certainly think if he can edit his film and place some of the plays he had past the 30-45 second mark to some of the first plays on his film, he could be a solid small school prospect. Frosty also brings a solid burst off the line.
