It is one of the key times on the recruiting calendar as colleges are able to get a look at vast amounts of high school talent in a short amount of time. Hundreds of student athletes flock to these camps and mega- camps in hopes of standing out in a way that either lands them an offer from a school or makes a coaching staff go back, check out the film of an athlete they didn’t know about, and then make the offer. Wisconsin is home to several student athletes that I believe are going to standout with their on field and testing performances and land their first offer from the highest levels of college football. The D1 level. That is what we are going to do today. Take a look at those 22’s and even some 23’s that I believe are going to land their first offer from the D1 level during this camp circuit! I used each athlete’s Twitter to double check that these athletes don’t hold any D1 offers, yet.
Nathan Skebba Nathan Skebba 6'5" | 270 lbs | OL Grafton | 2022 State WI , 2022 OL- Grafton
This one is a shock to me, but based on his Twitter account Skebba doesn’t have a reported D1 offer. I have a feeling that that is going to be short lived, though. 6’5″ 270 lbs OTs that move like Nathan does don’t grow on trees. His size, strength, and athleticism are what earned him his current spot in our Top 10 for the Wisconsin Class of 2022 Rankings. While looking through his page it is clear that he has the attention of schools at the FBS and FCS levels as he has received consistent graphics from Purdue, Wisconsin, and Illinois State among several others. Nathan’s play on the field warrants the interest, and should land him an offer from the D1 level in no time! Check out his film! Nathan’s Junior SZN Highlights
Max Grand Max Grand 5'9" | 185 lbs | RB Ellsworth | 2022 State WI , 2022 RB- Ellsworth
Things have really started to pick up steam for Max lately, and I believe it is going to culminate in an elusive D1 offer. On June 1 he worked out one on one with Minnesota Gophers RB coach Kenni Burns. Max also has several camps scheduled this summer. I have no doubt that Max is going to catch a lot of eyes. His film is full of the traits you look for in a D1 playmaker. He has a compact, strong frame with a low center of gravity that gives him exceptional contact balance. Grand also has speed on top of speed to burn. Last month, the Cream City Combine reported a 4.57 40 time at their combine, which was their second fastest time ever recorded. If you need more validation of his elite speed check out his spring track season. He helped set the 4×100 and 4×200 school records, posted a 22.8 200 meters, and a 10.88 100 meters. The kid can absolutely fly, catch out of the backfield, and play between the tackles. Somebody is going to pull the trigger on him and be very happy they did. You won’t find many kids grinding harder than him. Max’s Junior Season Highlights
Evan Redding Evan Redding 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Menomonee Falls | 2022 State WI , 2022 WR/DB- Menomonee Falls
Evan is one of my favorite highlight videos to watch. He has so much to offer the next level. He is a two way impact player that is a big play waiting to happen every time he touches the ball. His short area agility, acceleration, and body control are elite for the high school level. Give him the slightest bit of space while he is at WR and he will make you pay. It’s not just his start/stop and short area agility that is special. His overall play speed is going to also make him jump out from the crowd at camps this summer. I don’t foresee many DBs being able to keep up with him in one on ones. That elite speed and playmaking ability runs in the family as his older brother is walking on for the Gophers this fall at WR. Don’t be shocked when Evan gets the opportunity to play at that level as well. He currently holds three D2 offers, and I wouldn’t be shocked if his first D1 offer isn’t far away. Chase Spellman Chase Spellman 6'4" | 230 lbs | QB Kettle Moraine | 2024 WI , 2023 QB- Kettle Moraine
A 2023 that has been off to a hot start this summer is the soon to be junior QB out of Kettle Moraine High School. Earlier this week he was down in Georgia visiting the Bulldogs and also made a visit to Georgia Tech. He is also set to visit Wisconsin, Notre Dame, and many other FBS programs later this month. The 6’3″ 205 lbs pocket passer has all the natural arm talent that you want in a big time QB recruit. Sharp footwork and throwing mechanics, pinpoint accuracy to all levels of the field, and the arm strength to hit closing windows all over the field with velocity. Do not be surprised if he earns an early offer this summer from one of the FBS programs he visits this month. He is a top notch QB prospect. Spellman’s Sophomore Season
Zander Rockow Zander Rockow 6'1" | 240 lbs | ATH Eau Claire Regis | 2023 State WI , 2023 LB/RB- Regis
Zander is another 2023 that is going to be getting around to several camps on FBS campuses this June. He will be at Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Iowa State camps all before June 10. He is going to catch a lot of eyes out there. The 6’2″ 220 lbs RB/LB is bursting with potential on both sides of the ball. As an RB, Zander is a bruising ball carrier that has the speed, instincts, and power to generate consistently large chunks of yardage on the ground. He can outrun opponents just as easily as he can run right through them. It will be interesting to see how he develops over the next couple of years. I wouldn’t be surprised if colleges look at him more at the LB position going forward either. Zander is a versatile athlete with a skillset that is going to intrigue a lot of big time programs. Keep an eye on him this summer. Zander’s Sophomore Season
