It was quite a busy week full of camps and visits where a lot of in-state guys received a lot of attention, added offers and was put on the recruiting map.

– The official visit tour rolled right along last week with multiple prospects taking in visits and weekend trips to their selected programs. We are expecting another big official visit section this weekend, so expect another long list in next week’s recap.
Among the guys who took in official visits last weekend include ….
– (WR) Isaiah Horton Isaiah Horton 6'3" | 190 lbs | WR Oakland | 2022 State TN (Oakland) – Alabama
– (OT) Fisher Anderson Fisher Anderson 6'7" | 275 lbs | OL Franklin | 2022 State TN (Franklin) – North Carolina
– (S) D’Arco Perkins (Stratford) – Michigan
– (DB) Myles Pollard Myles Pollard 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Ravenwood | 2022 State TN (Ravenwood) – Oklahoma
– (DE) Eric Gaston Eric Gaston 6'5" | 270 lbs | DL Cane Ridge | 2022 State TN (Cane Ridge) – Memphis
– (QB) Kyle Lowe Kyle Lowe 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Fayette Ware | 2022 State TN (Fayette Ware) – Georgia Southern
I could see a few of these guys above make commitments to these respected schools when it comes time, especially Horton to Alabama and Pollard to Oklahoma. Anderson has visited Northwestern, No. Carolina and Virginia thus far with two more official visits to go. Look for Anderson to commit before the start of his senior season.
– It was a strong and active week of recruiting for Father Ryan (DB) James Reed III James Reed III 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Father Ryan | 2022 State TN . The 6’0 cover corner first attended the #RoarCityMC where he was one of the top defensive back performers and then took in an exclusive unofficial visit with MTSU. Prior to his visit over to see the Blue Raiders, Reed picked up an offer from Arkansas State after his strong camp performance at Tennessee St. on Wednesday. The Red Wolves won’t be his last D1 offer and I could see Power Five programs getting involved sooner than later. Reed III is a true hidden gem waiting to be found.
– Another guy who had a big time camp at Tennessee St on Wednesday was Beech (TE) Jackson Long Jackson Long 6'5" | 220 lbs | TE Beech | 2022 State TN . This 6’5 pass catcher has been a rising star this offseason as someone that is on the brink of breaking out into Power Five status. His performance at the #RoarCityMC piqued the interest of Vanderbilt where they immediately invited him to campus the very next day. Long holds multiple offers, including ones from Florida St. MTSU and Western Ky with several other high profile programs interested. Vanderbilt could be that next big school to get involved and become an immediate player for Long.

– We now have a national level recruit coming out of Mt. Juliet in 2023 (LB) Ethan Crisp Ethan Crisp 6'3" | 205 lbs | LB Mt. Juliet | 2023 State TN . The Golden Bears defender had a banner week as he received three powerful offers from Auburn, Florida, Louisville and Michigan all in one week and he isn’t done. More programs like Duke, Georgia, Ga Tech, Memphis, North Carolina, Nebraska and a few others have interest with Crisp and after seeing these three schools offer, it may force others to extend offers. This is a 4-star prospect and one of the top overall in-state prospects for the 2023 class. (Ranked #7 overall in the #PRZTN #TN2023 Player Rankings)
– Another Mid-State product who had a productive recruiting week was 2023 Ravenwood (QB) Chris Parson Chris Parson 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Ravenwood | 2023 State TN . A new name to the area but has certainly staked his claim, Parson is a strong armed, athletic quarterback that has picked up major steam this summer recruiting season, adding new offers last week from Miami and Tennessee. As this is being written, Parson is currently partaking in an unofficial visit with Florida St. and the Noles are a major player for this Raptors junior signal caller. Look for Parson’s stock to continue to rise over the final summer months and before we start the Fall football season.
– One of the hardest workers in this state, regardless of class, has finally seen his grind pay off as 2023 Henry Co. (QB) Ryan Damron Ryan Damron 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Henry Co. | 2023 State TN added a huge offer last week from Kentucky. The Wildcats became his 1st SEC offer which in turn has put him on the map as a highly recruitable guy. Damron also added a recent offer from MTSU, so his stock is definitely on an uptick which should force other power programs to look a little deeper into the Mid-Tennessee product.

– The next big star in the state of Tennessee will be 2024 Pearl Cohn (WR) Ondre Evans Ondre Evans 6'1" | 185 lbs | DB CPA | 2024 State TN . This is a big time athlete with size, speed and great physical traits that is already on the radar of many high level programs. Last week at the #RoarCityMC, Evans put on a show in front of a lot of Power Five coaches and ended the day walking away with eventual offers from Ole Miss and Tennessee. Evans is ultra talented and has 4-star, 5-star status written all over him. He just needs to keep working and progressing as a player and eventually, the Firebirds rising sophomore will have all the options in the college football worlds to choose from.
– 2024 Page (TN) O-lineman Ronan O’Connell Ronan O’Connell 6'5" | 285 lbs | OL Page | 2024 State TN is a name to learn about now as he will be one of the top recruited linemen in-state from his recruiting class. That process began last week when Western Ky extended an official offer and became the 1st program to do so. O’Connell is a big man with a great frame along with length and a mobile lower body. He has all the traits you like and want in a high level college offensive lineman and he is still far from a finished product. I could see this Patriots youngster adding several more offers before the end of his upcoming sophomore season.
– Great news came to 2024 Knox. Catholic (Ath) Braylon Harmon Braylon Harmon 5'10" | 175 lbs | ATH Knox. Catholic | 2024 State TN last week when the Memphis Tigers became the 1st school to extend him an official offer. Harmons is a natural athlete that could play both ways but his body, game and upside could fit best over on offense at running back or slot receiver. Harmon has yet to become a key cog on the Fighting Irish offense but this upcoming season could be a breakout campaign for the rising sophomore. Look to hear Harmon’s name a lot more over the coming years.
