Indiana has plenty of talented backs, especially in the Class of 2023. Today we will take a look at three more running backs who are currently in our Class of 2023 state rankings. Each of these three have the potential to make a huge splash this season and to find themselves near the top of the list this time next year. All three prospects can be outstanding players at the next level.

Robert Lamar Robert Lamar 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Clarksville | 2023 State IN is an electric player for Clarksville. He maintains an outstanding level of composure throughout the duration of the play. Lamar always searches for running room to run and he often finds it. Lamar has incredible speed. He can outrun defenders and his quickness allows him to take some more chances. He can cut all the way back across the field knowing that opposing defenses are not able to stay with him. Lamar also has a great special teams presence. As a returner, he can find any little crease and exploit it. Brad Gagnon Brad Gagnon 5'10" | 195 lbs | RB McCutcheon | 2023 State IN ’s style as a running back is a great blend of dexterity and determination. Gagnon can glide past defenders either with his speed and he can also elude them by making tacklers miss in the open field. When push comes to shove, Gagnon embraces the physical side of his game. He can lower his shoulder and pick up extra yardage. Gagnon can break tackles, meaning that he frequently requires more than one defender to get him on the ground. Gagnon is a north-south kind of runner and he is somebody that can be counted on to consistently move the sticks.

Trey Gibson Trey Gibson 6'0" | 200 lbs | RB Hobart | 2023 State IN is a versatile player whose tremendous athleticism makes him a problem for any defense that he comes up against. Gibson has great speed allowing him to get outside. He has an outstanding feel for the game. He sees the field well and he shows great fluidity on the field. Gibson is great coming out of the backfield. He is a reliable receiver who picks up yardage after the catch. Gibson is particularly dangerous in the screen game. Once he makes the catch, Gibson has the patience and the composure to let his blockers get set-up. Then, he puts his foot in the ground and gets up field, normally for a big gain. Trey Gibson Trey Gibson 6'0" | 200 lbs | RB Hobart | 2023 State IN is the kind of player that can be multi-purposeful for an offense and the objective has to be to just get the ball in his hands as many times as possible.
The Class of 2023 has exceptional backfield talent. These past two days we have evaluated the six running backs who are currently in the rankings for the Junior-to-be class. But these two articles do not come close to telling the entire story of how deep the backfield depth runs in Indiana’s Class of 2023. Later this summer, I will post about some of the underrated running backs in the Class of 2023. With this much talent on offer, defenses better get ready for a tough game against these three outstanding running back prospects.
